      By Knowing the more loft you have the less you need to adjust; sand wedge downhill has way less distance gap than 7 iron downhill because of the arc and the downward angle of decent.

    This hammer drill has been such a light bulb moment for me. My last practice session and game – it’s encouraged my body into the good dynamic impact position! I’ve pasted some drives today. I even hit a 3 iron 225yds which for me is so long even slightly wind assisted.

    Thanks for putting up with me . I have tried everything you have mentioned. Awhile back I would try whatever new task that your free videos would suggest. The course I play doesn’t have a range so I can’t build my swing like I would if I was at the range. At the range I start using the sledgehammer for for chipping then hit pitches with feet together , then feet apart .. I try to match the blur of practice swing over the ball and predict that I’ll miss the ball but confirm that the blur is going in the direction of where I intend it to go. For irons I use throwing horseshoes where I get a feel of my legs being the power source. On the irons it’s more vertical and the driver is vertical with a little rotation.added.. For the irons I use the hammer task of hitting the nail in the door frame to make sure I have tilted spiral but I still am trying to see if the blurt matches . With the driver I am using battering ram task.. Every shot I hit even the putter I’m trying to see if blur. matches up and actually see it during the shot. While I’m playing I’ll take practice swings with my lead arm only with opposite end of cub and cut the bamboo stalk. I also find myself saying “don’t let your arms hit you on the way good back don’t let you arms hit you on way going through. I also try to feel like I am already in perpetual motion but I try to do it at a little slower speed then if I was actually doing the perpetual motion drill . I like slow motion back swing for seniors video (I am in my seventies) I am also trying to use Savvy’s grip . Driver I can go about 45 degrees closed and still hit it semi straight with a little draw . Irons I have to have it less closed. Still working on that . Nothing worse than hitting a drive on a par 4 inside of 100 or 50 yds and pulling second shot left. Yeah that is about it.

    shawn, is there a lot separation between ur upper and lower bod?
    myself I have very little I found the more separation I have. it hurts my back.
    lastly how do u keep club low to ground for those distance.it seems impossible to do because u can t increase arc radius once everything is stretched out

      Hey Mark! We have a saying that you never want to do anything with strain; the separation between upper and lower body I have never paid attention to; it is something that just happens when you are focused on the proper task which would engage your human kinetic chain which is a built in self preservation system. My favourite series for this is the “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” this series will also address the low to ground question too! 👍😀

    Another great video. Im 70 years of age took tons of lessons. I was a position player and focused on hitting the ball. Hey that’s what I was taught. I almost gave up golf do to poor performance and the joints were getting sore. Watched your YouTube channel and the number one take away that changed golf for me was throw the club to the target, not hit the ball. After practicing throwing the club and it took awhile when I put a ball down it took awhile to keep from defaulting to hitting the ball and the body stalling. Then it started working the aw ha moment happen when the club flew to the target and the body automatically, without effort or feeling any resistance it started working. Sure wish I would have discovered/known this when I was younger. Golf is now a fun game and I can now be competitive with my peers.Keep up the good work.

    I believe my releasing at the ball is a huge factor in my current (and past) wrist/thumb injuries, I can really see it when you showed that part in the video….. No matter how hard I try, I very rarely get this through the ball, towards the target, release.

    What do you recommend for an online lesson set up – I want to “take you” to my driving range…….. I’m thinking of getting an ipad, stand, and a mic…. would that work?

      Hey Krista! Yes, a phone, a set of head phones for the phone which has the mic built in and an inexpensive tripod with a phone clip to hold the phone in place and move around to face on or down the line at will; works amazing for lessons and it is 95% like being there with me. Our online lesson program has been wildly successful and has exceeded all my expectations!

    Shawn,
    Great meeting you this week. Is a good task “pull the arc back and then pull the arc forward” then aim that left or right of the IP?

    It really drives home and automates all the drills we did w the deep hand release feel. I also REALLY feel the hip swivel.

    Basically the feel I have is my right hip yanks my right shoulder back which heaves the ACU, then simply my left hip does the same. I feel like my body is starting the arc-blur, not my arms or mind. It just happens.

    Pull arc blur back w right side, sling it at the target w the left side. Does that make sense as a task? Because holy moly this feels incredible!

      I never focused or saw the blur and now realized I was still not task focused enough and the manipulations would really be blown out of proportion when there was a little pressure or my eye didn’t love the line.

      This feel of the arms are totally shut off and only the kinetic chain is on is so liberating. Just to clarify, for draw I want to see the blur over the ball then pass the right edge of the IP, for fade I want to see the blur pass over the left edge of the ball and then left of the IP correct?

      One question on picking a target. I’ve been consistently hitting the shot shape but it’s been starting at my intended target and curving away. Is should I (for me) place the IP in between the ball and my start line as a fix for this?

      Over the ball in both cases; and then use the IP to deliver the flow of momentum in the direction you want to start the ball and if you feel that the release was deep enough past the ball and it is not fading, then your grip and club face is too strong.

    I’m having trouble understanding the elephant walk concept vs skipping a stone or throwing to the target.. With the elephant walk I feel like my moment wants to move in the direction of the ball where as skipping a stone / throwing towards the target I have a shift towards the target. Now with the shift towards the target it also feels difficult to elephant walk that way too 😵‍💫

    Shawn, on one of your Youtube videos “Is your golf underpowered??
    This grip will add 15 to 30 Yards to your shots”, Savannah was demonstrating her “strong grip” with her trail hand under her lead hand at address. It appeared that she started with a neutral grip and a closed clubface and then rotated her forearms at address to what appears to set the clubface square at address. My question is by starting with her strong grip and what appears to be square clubface at address , will the clubface not rotate too open dynamically speaking. Anotherwords, my understanding from your other videos is that starting with a neutral grip and a closed clubface will end up with a square clubface dynamically during the swing. Can you clear up my confusion on proper grip and clubface position at address? Thanks

They both work the same way and they are one in the same; you can either address the ball square with strong grip; or with neutral and closed face or anywhere in between; we have posted a video called “important grip update” that will clear this up even more; let me know when you see it!

      Thanks Shawn. Your clarification response was very helpful to understand the proper grip, orientation of the forearm bones, and clubface orientation. I also watched your “important grip update” video that you suggested which also helped. I have been using the neutral grip and a closed clubface but the one thing that I was missing and that became much clearer was the need to tilt my body to get behind the ball,which squares the clubface at address, and aligns the 2 bones in my forearms to position me fo deliver a powerful strike. I just returned from the range and experienced better direction control and more distance .
