Hi Shawn, many a times I am stuck with a tree in front and the distance to green is 90-120 yards. I cant use my wedges, I try a 7 and even a 5 , mostly I over cook it with a draw. Unable to hit a low fade , or a low shot. How does one hit it low and how to play a long iron short distance without going too high?

Shawn Clement

Use the flight plan; then match the set up to the flight plan; then let momentum deliver the task!

Hey Shawn, what do I do about my club catching grass in the takeaway when dealing with rough. A steeper takeaway ?

Shawn Clement

Learn how to hover the club from the shoulder sockets down just above ground at grass level; use longer tees and start at driver height and just clip the tip of the tee with the sole of the club and progressively lower it to the grass and continue doing that.

On all of these shots you just showed, I am going to Practice substituting FEELING & FOCUS – TRUST to replace any FEAR I may have of these SHOTS. What are your Thoughts for Overcoming FEAR of any SHOT? Please Reply. Thanks.

Hi Shawn, I recently been playing a course with thick fairway rough and found myself with poor contact with the ball as the rough grabbed my club. Do you have any suggestions for this type of shot? Thanks, Larry De Biasio

Larry De Biasio

Thank you Shawn for the quick response. I will keep this in mind during my next game!!!
