  • From Alan Nasypany on Over the Ball

    Shawn,

This is the best video I have seen yet! This approach fits perfectly with what we think we know from the brain research. We don’t always know what we’re missing, but most of the time we can sure tell what feels right and what doesn’t. Focusing on exaggerating the bad feel for a second will make the good way more noticeable because it will feel like coming home. Then instead of wondering if I am set up properly, I can begin my swing feeling like I am at home and comfortable.

    Alan

Shawn: I vaguely remember hearing you discuss a slight “pre-set turn” of the shoulders in one of your videos. For beginners at least. Could you please direct me to that content? ‘Looking forward to the next in this series!

  • From Harry Wilson on THROWING SERIES- PART 1

I did some throwing of old clubs today. The first throw was a pull naturally…The others I got on target but was not throwing as far or as hard as I could, I would say one out of ten. As I practice this should I increase effort? (As long as it’s in a safe place of course) Or just practice the feel. I thinking I should eventually increase effort as it would potentially help with distance/club head speed.

Hi Harry! Good stuff! Yes, as you get the hang of it, you can open up and abandon the throw more for sure! I like throwing about 50 yards, and your comfort zone could be 30-35 yards. Once you feel that kinetic chain engage and load the arm-club unit, (if that already has not been felt, you will know when it happens), you will feel the immediate “plug in” capacity to your golf shots; high or low, draw or fade. 😀👍

Great video! Would you apply these same concepts when using a 3 wood or 5 wood but with less tilt than a Driver?

Hi Shawn. What video would you recommend next to build off of this one? Thanks.

What are your thoughts on looking at the hole (target) vs looking at the ball during the stroke?

I have several videos showing how good that works and recommend it highly! See “fine tuning the putting stroke shawn clement” on youtube and I know it is in one or 2 of our putting videos here on premium!

That why tiger says that when he wants to bomb a drive, he drops the back foot back. Fun video. Thanks.

Curious. In some swing systems, they preach “Load” the trail/right glute in the backswing. Is that the case with your swing?

Just from my observations, it appears that you are rotating around either your tail bone/(Center of mass) or maintaining a majority of your pressure on your lead femur when making a backswing. Can you elaborate?

Looking forward to your response. TY in advance

Hey Anthony! Found you! Sorry I missed this one.
this is an important video for you to help you understand how we are built to shift weight and this lays the ground work for you TO ALLOW the proper moves to come to you. Please see “weight shift with Savy” and then see “the walking drill” for an easy way to naturally acquire the move. Then see “kinetic chain series” to understand that the purpose to all of this is to facilitate the engagement of the human kinetic chain and this is where the power source of the swing is. Not theory based on assumptions-PURE HUMAN SELF PRESERVING MOVEMENT PATTERNS!😀👍💪👌

Hi Shawn, sorry if this is a silly question. When playing a draw which part or parts are aiming right of the intermediate point (right handed player). Is it shoulders. Club face. Feet or swing path.

Hi Shawn I hear in your videos on YouTube that when you set up for a golf shot feel the suction cups in your feet . And I use even more suction on the downswing and my swing speed improves 10 percent. But taken film .of my swing looks a retrictve follow through even though I’m concentrating on path to go through and club path through Acu-strike shows the right path. When I use my legs this way my hips are not moving out of the way

I’ll take the improve speed for tomorrow’s golf thanks Shawn

Hi Larry! As long as you stay with your task, like for example “throwing the club”, your hips will move out of the way; but if you are focusing on the feet or staying down with the right side, then the hips will stall. Combine this video with the “throwing the club” video and it will fall into place much better!

How much distance is gained or lost with fade or draw? From standard straight fade or draw, how much can you get away with before it changes? if shooting for a green, pin on right side, aim for middle hit fade, pin on left aim for middle with a draw, would you club down on the draw or doesn’t it matter unless you are really hooking or fading around a tree

Short irons is a club difference
      mid irons a half club
      long irons same
      woods same
wedges are draw all the way unless you have a flop shot or soft high pitch shots to land gently on hard greens.

Major breakthrough from this video! You mentioned in a video analysis that i need to leverage the ground more. Been working hard on it and this video hit home. I feel the quads and glutes engaged at setup and then find them again once backswing is finished and clubs starts falling. Years of struggling to find center of club face and now i am peppering the middle (cleanest part of my clubs btw). Thanks!
