Hey Shawn,
I am training at feet together drill for chipping with some tasks like throw the hammer, basically i am able to hit very decent shots, but i am not able to get the sensation of a golf ball compressed. Any tips?

Shawn Clement

It is all about the quality of contact with the sole of club along the ground using momentum; the compression with the ball is secondary and a bi-product of solid sole to ground contact.

Hi shawn, is there any video where you talk about club selection on chipping?

Eckhart Diestel

A very good target on the green/fringe can be lighter or darker gras patches.

One of the things I find useful is place cocktail napkins in locations I want to land the ball. I’ll put several out there from 6’ away every 3 or 4 feet but all on the same target line. I turn that into a game giving myself three then two shots at each target to hit the five or so targets out there. If I miss I start again. On a green I’ll use tees. Really gives you a great idea of distance in the air vs roll out based on the wedge or club loft.

Great video again! I see others stating not using so much forward press as this will reduce the risk of hitting the ground and give more variety of type of chips as well as keeping the ball by the front foot by default?

Wait, wait, wait… Those are Vockey wedges! the Callaway deal didn’t cover the wedges?
I love the tip about hovering the club slightly since the ball is back in the stance. Brilliant stuff.
