hi shawn,
you don’t have to explain anything to anyone. The kind of practical videos with reasoning no one out there truly does it like you do.
I am a decent player and you have taken me to different heights and from watching videos.
Keep doing what you do!

Hey Shawn, watching this based on the swing analysis you did for me. You said I was losing my tilt at the top of the backswing. I’ve been try to get more behind the ball and keep tilted into the top of the backswing but its seems now I am hitting really weak fades and shanks with this type of setup. Maybe I’m getting too behind the ball or over tilting? Any thoughts?
See “hammer drill” and “contact mile markers” as well as “important grip update” to go with that!
Hey Shawn, my name is Phil, I’m newer to the group, just over a week now. In the very beginning I found pretty good success in practice with this swing type. I played a round yesterday and everything fell apart as far as the concepts I have learned and practiced. Now, to be fair, I still shot better than I normally would, because of these concepts, but some how I have lost the ability to hit anything other than a slice/ big fade, which was always my miss with a conventional swing. Shot dispersion is still tighter than ever and the basic principals have improved my short game, which helped me save some strokes where I previously would have “blown up” on the hole(s). I carded a 54 on a par 36 (9 holes) yesterday. Lots of double bogies and bogies. The only blow up hole I had was a par 3 where I carded double par. (I always pick up at this point to “keep it moving”). Aside from that I had 2 or 3 par 4s where I carded 7 strokes. Thanks to a couple fat shots or miss hits that sliced that didn’t get me onto the green. My other miss was that I was having a horrid time with my 3 wood and my 3/4 hybrids. I topped a lot of those and sliced as well. With a conventional swing I finally got to a neutral grip. I have gone back to a very strong grip as I have tried to learn your swing, and without videoing my swing yet, I’m thinking I might be cupping my wrist. I know you can’t offer much insight without being able to see my swing, which is what has prompted this message. In this video you mentioned the Swing Index app. I have signed up and am planning to submit my swing. How do I get those videos directly to you, and are you still making use of this platform, since it’s your swing that I am trying to learn?
I can already feel the difference in my shots from your swing. The two things I am finding issue with is clubface and release. I am a 200yd 7 iron with conventional swing, and I’ve dropped to around 160 learning this swing. I’ve watched the videos, and am trying to groove the feels, using intermediate points, suggested grip, body tilt, turn, closing the clubface at address, etc; but something is out of wack. I still feel like I release at the ball and that I am putting in more strain than I should.
Sorry for the long winded message, the first half is really my main question, I’m sure the rest will be answered through proper visual analysis.
Hope you are well. Thank you for the great platform!
Don’t worry about the swing index app; they unfortunately have too many growing pains to list and I have told them to move on without me. The Eagle membership is what you want with a nice monthly analysis; but in terms of time, you are still very young with Wisdom in Golf! All the shots you missed on course where from simple (after a while you will understand) misappropriated focus cues. If you see a ball and make the ball your target, you are already lost because you have no destination! Start with getting yourself a task you can get really good at, so see our top 3 tasks and see “throwing the club” “lead hand release” “trail hand release” release fine tuning” and “snap release polish” videos; then see “predict contact” and ‘the goldie locks series” and finally “target confirmation series” will start to gel everything in place. Then we can do a nice analysis so I can point you where you need to go next.
