    have to say that im really looking forward to the winter sessions … im in ny and we dont stop playing unless the snow covers the course … the football analogy is money ..!!! really will help the delivery to the target … one thing that i want to ask about is swing trigger …
    i have a trigger motion to start the swing like the mini elephant walk with the small trail knee in which lifts up my back heel a bit and i plant going back … ive had mixed results with this but i started adding a very slight forward shaft lean at the same time and it works amazingly for me coupled with the above … is this bad as i know im kinda delofting the club a bit before starting back … im hitting my shots amazingly with this and want to be sure this is not back longterm swing …

      No worries about delofting the club at all Raymond; when you swing through the ball, the hands always lead which means the club IS DESIGNED TO BE DELOFTED!

      I don’t believe it really matters how you trigger the start of your swing. It is what really works for you. The way I see it , what Shawn gives are really the basic information. Each person will have to adjust the basic ideas to fit themselves. Not everyone is exactly the same. However, all adjustments should evolve around the basic moves Shawn had taught.

    Hi Shawn, great session on the driver. I am practicing the lessons you describe. I am having success hitting the ball on the up swing and seeing improvements. My challenge is hitting the club face in a consistent spot, toe, then heal, then centre, and so on. Any suggestions?

      The arm-putter unit hangs from the shoulders and with the weight even on the feet, it should hang to the point where the centre of the putter head is in the centre of the stance. Then place the ball ahead of that.

    Hello Shawn. First I want to thank you for your generosity. By that I mean that after my first year with you I was surprised to find that the Wisdom in Golf 1.0 series had been added to my account. The series has helped me a lot. Thank you.

    So, I have struggled greatly with the driver, really struggled. Awesome fades. When I was younger I swear my driver shots would go 200 yards down range and 200 yards into the woods. I did a lot heavy weights back then. 🙂 Seriously though. With your system I have gotten rid of the slice for the most part. Recently, I purchased a new driver and have been pleasantly surprised that I am hitting many very good shots with the driver that carry 250 yards with a good roll out. So to me 10 to 20 yards roll out puts me in very good shape as long as it is in on the short grass. Anyway, what does this have to do with the one-leg-drill? Today I hit a bucket of balls. I hit several nice 7 irons and then switched off to the driver (it was yelling at me) and after 6 or 8 good drives I went back to the 7 iron and proceeded to hit fat shots. Now at my age (almost 64) that is not a pleasant experience when you hit one after the other (the earth don’t move so good). OK. The one-leg-drill – when I hit balls from the one-leg-drill, I hit beautiful golf shots that go a really long ways and look so good in the air and most of the time have a slight draw. Then when I go back to two legs, I hit fat. Question – how do I transition from the on-leg to the two-leg and hit that same lovely draw with lots of distance? Sorry it took so long to get to it.:)

    Hi Shawn, watching you hit stingers at The Florida Club was a lot of fun.

    Do you have any rules of thumb for hitting more extreme shots? That is, if Im trying to hit a big fade or hook do I just open or close the face and move the ball more forward or back? Do I need to club up or down a few clubs? Id think this could only be done to a small degree.

    Sometimes hitting traditional shots on the range gets a little boring, maybe one day we can get a video on hitting the slice and hook.

    Anyway, love the content, keep it up!

      Good question! It all starts with where do you want to start and where do you want to end the shot; then use goldie locks to find your set up through the prediction process; and yes, good idea for a video and I will note it down right now for our next shoot!

    I’m consistently slapping the ball right( for right-handed swing) if I go for the elbow past the door frame! Even with a severely closed face.

    However, I get great shots in balance with the hands past the door frame but the elbow behind the ball, as I come through the ball.

    I’m not sure if I lose my WIG card for that!

      Thanks, Shawn. Cutting the dandelion stem, throwing the club, compressing into the doorframe, skipping stone and hockey shot all work for me. Then I see a video about the elbow, and thinking I’m missing something, I try to bring the elbow past the ball! Thanks for the feedback.

      You are the only one teacher I introduce to my son and my friends. One question needs your hep to clarify:

      What’s the line for the takeway? Will it follow the target line(straight) or shoulder line which will be slightly opened after braced tilt? If shoulder line, that means the backswing will be slightly inside, right?

      Backswing should always match the direction of the shot! Please see “stay with your shot shawn clement” on the regular channel and then see “working the ball” on premium! Always choose a ball flight; fade or draw; then match the backswing to it!

      Hi Bill! LOL; did you notice I was playing and putting LEFT HANDED?
      My left handed putting stroke is like Jordan Speith’s, cross handed, as I feel that my dominant hand works better with my non-dominent hand this way;
      Same fundamentals though; arm-putter unit in balance under my shoulder sockets and riding their own arc;

    Shawn – Great video on ball position relative to shot shape. I think it’s something commonly overlooked. I really like to play open hips, closed shoulders with the ball position back of center. It tends to help me keep a nice draw. If i get the ball position too forward i tend to over draw everything to the left. Defaulting to “inside left heel” ball position has messed me up far too many times to count!

      Right on David! Ball position is HUGE
      Make sure you see the “predictions” video and keep that ball position “predicted” as part of the release to target together with distance to ball, grip and club face angle and level of posture for how much turf you need to shave for the shot at hand!

      I also notice if I dont turn my head right (i’m right handed) far enough – almost chin to right shoulder – with longer clubs i tend to get really hooky too. I think that’s because it allows for a full shoulder turn, and for longer clubs you need more turn/time to get everything flowing in desired directions, right?

      That makes sense if you feel the need to help it and strain too much when you don’t do and don’t finish the backswing; do a goldie locks on it to feel what would be too much (you would be too far back and out of balance on the right foot) or too little which would not allow you to finish the backswing;
      Just right allows you to finish the backswing in balance and feel that you can get through the ball with ease!

      Ah ha! After rewatching the Complete the Backswing video I think I have a clue why the head turn is important (at least in my home made swing lol) – the head turn tricks me into turning and gathering. As you pointed out in the video if you don’t gather you don’t have any ability to whip the club through impact. For me with a pretty strong grip and open hips I get hooky when this lack of gather happens. Thanks for jogging my brain on “why” this works 🙂
