I’m not sure where to leave this comment…so I’ll just drop it here. Shawn, I have watched countless videos you have made on YouTube. I love your instructions and analogies. With that being said, I decided to buy a premium membership at eagle level and thought I could not be happier…until I bought a grass whip. I am absolutely smashing the ball with a wonderful release towards the target after just 5 minutes swinging my grass whip. I know I took the long way, but here is my point, if you like Shawn’s method, and want really feel what he is talking about, I suggest you order a grass whip. I found mine on Amazon. Thank you, Shawn, for all of the great lessons, you have a member for life. Sincerely, Travis Palmer(no relation to the King)

Right on Travis! THANK YOU for taking the time to write; anywhere is great! Glad you finally took the plunge and got the whip! So many times I get on the road and see our wonderful Wisdom in Golf Students and immediately I see what they need in their swing and ask them: have you thrown some clubs or slashed some swords or whipped some grass? And so many say: well, I watched the video and it makes sense! 😝 Now, Travis gets it! You need to DO THE DRILLS!😀👍

I have tried to play this video 4 times on my IPad Air. No luck yet. It freezes very early, last 2 times
    At 2:38 and 3:47. Thanks

Here is a nice reply that might help!
“Browser made the difference: with Internet Explorer 11, Video 1 did not play. With Firefox 58, both videos played without a hitch at 1080p.”

Did you lower the resolution like you did before? I thought you had the issue resolved?

Hi Shawn, I was hoping these videos would be laid out in a chronological order (like taking a beginner from the very first lesson). Did I miss something? Looks like they are all randomly accessible but not what I was wanting. Thanks, and I think it’s critical that people have a step by step plan, or else it just adds to the frustration we get with most golf instruction.

Yes, what you want to do is go to the 1.0 series right out of the gate; that series will take you step by step!
Then you go chronologically after that! You will find yourself very easily then!
And I am always here for questions too; so please ask!

I much appreciate the feedback; thank you-will talk to Matt to make sure people know to go to 1.0 first!

      Simply look at the “categories” list and the 1.0 is right there at the bottom;

Thank you and I know your method will work. Nobody has to teach a person to toss their car keys to someone else, so the golf swing should be the same instinctive process, and not a bunch of thoughts! Cheers!

I think I learned as much as Kevin by watching these videos. The concept that a power fade may be preferable to drawing for some players with the driver is possibly something you could discuss in your Driver series ( or did I miss it?)

I am slightly older and one year into playing golf and less have less mass than Kevin ( I am 78kg), but I have exactly the same issues as Kevin with the driver. I can shape my fairway wood well, but if I try to draw with the driver it is less than predictable. The push fade can happen without notice!

My neighbour is a club fitter so I will talk to him about extending my short irons too.

    Thanks Shawn and Kevin.

    Cheers,

    Kym

Right on Kym! Many of my good playing students have a much more consistent fade on the tee because of our side vision-the position of the ball that is more forward than usual.

Just make sure you still have a nice strong grip so that they are compressed and power fades!!

Hi Shawn, I have this low grass/tight lie anxiety and I would rather hit from a fluffy lie or light rough, so naturally, my wedge game is garbage and inconsistent. I hit fat and skull shots with regularity. Is that because I am not using gravity and the arm/club connection. Also I have the terrible hit impulse. Any suggestions, or will this all be cured with your process?

  • From Jeremy Moody on Goldilocks Series

I must admit that Goldilocks was never my favorite children’s tale. Abnoxious little girl taking advantage of the 3 bears…however…in golf she is the bomb. Finding the optimal posture, distance to ball, and takeaway path to fit the downswing and especially in putting to gauge the acu pendulum.

    Hi Shawn,

Does this wide descending angle also apply to iron shots?

    Thanks

Yes! 👍😀 this is a precursor to the iron play!

Interesting. So my takeaway for the irons is similar to my takeaway for a chip shot, only I hinge a bit to get to a ‘pitch’ position and complete the backswing for a ‘full swing’ position.
