Hello Shawn, been watching a long time, since the “Clemshaw” days. Decided to start golfing again after 6 years… “position” swing work ruined me. One question on the effect the skies have, it feels like there is more weight on the insteps of your feet, Ben Hogan talked about this in his setup, and its something I have been tinkering with trying to stay centered. Is that a bad idea as I work forward with your information? It definitely creates a bit more tension in the lower body at setup as a tradeoff.
I would also add that if you use the butt in the trebuchet then its pretty tough to early extend!
Thanks for all your years of hard work to help people!
Hi Greg! I would not recommend that; you will see “the walking drill” and this is a drill you should definitely practice regularly as the tension free action of this drill will get you what you need without thinking. The “feet together back to feet apart” and “pumping up the volume” videos would be next and very important to get you to realize that built in tension is no good for your machine. The next “driver polish session” coming out next week on premium will be important for you through Munashe’s perspective so stay tuned for that too!
The club head stays outside of the hands in the backswing? That’s my observation of this video.
When you do the perpetual motion drill, you will feel the same thing in the backswing; see “anti-manipulation” video and you will feel the same thing!
shawn
i bought my skis today – 2 by 1 strappings!
my perpetual motion seems to be very consistent toward the target.
going to keep working on this one.
Yeah man!! Love this drill!!
When do you plan to visit Melbourne?
Brisbane would be closer.
The wife has approved. 😃
Looks like one of the guys has offered to put me up for the week and is looking into a facility that will allow me to teach my clinics there. I have done 2 visits to Sydney and have many in Melbourne and thought, hey, next one should be There! Next year if the schedule fits! Shawn
Shawn – a lot of great stuff in this video – focusing on keeping the feet bolted through impact – how do you take this video to the course when you may not be skiing and golfing simultaneously? 🙂
Is the takeaway here to try and keep pressure over the arches on both feet through impact to help keep your feet bolted?
The key is to continue to develop the release but with that bolted feel; if you have a fairway bunker to go hit shots out of, and you can dig your feet the way I have them here with the boards, it will be a half hour very well spent! Release to target always-this is the number 1 priority!! Release to target from a solid center feel is polish.
Is this the video you mentioned in your latest release on Youtube (7/31/18). About Dynamic Posture?
Yes! I should have said here in premium! Brain fart!!😝😝
Shawn,
I’ve been told I have been lifting up on back swing. Any drills or videos you recommend. Thxs !
Hi Ricardo!
That one is always dangerous to place any stock into; questions:
-What was your task-focus just before you swung?
-what were the circumstances that compelled that person to say you are lifting?
Shawn
Not trying to make more work for you Matt, but it would be great if you could include a little more detailed description of the videos intended key items, and when Shawn refers to a previous video for reference, a hot link to that video to view in advance. Thank you in advance and now get back to pounding balls at your intended target😊
Hi Shawn, I was hoping these videos would be laid out in a chronological order (like taking a beginner from the very first lesson). Did I miss something? Looks like they are all randomly accessible but not what I was wanting. Thanks, and I think it’s critical that people have a step by step plan, or else it just adds to the frustration we get with most golf instruction.
Yes, what you want to do is go to the 1.0 series right out of the gate; that series will take you step by step!
Then you go chronologically after that! You will find yourself very easily then!
And I am always here for questions too; so please ask!
I much appreciate the feedback; thank you-will talk to Matt to make sure people know to go to 1.0 first!
Shawn
Simply look at the “categories” list and the 1.0 is right there at the bottom;
Shawn
Thank you and I know your method will work. Nobody has to teach a person to toss their car keys to someone else, so the golf swing should be the same instinctive process, and not a bunch of thoughts! Cheers!
What is the Henrik Drill that you refer to?
Just posted one on golf WRX; will be doing a much more elaborate one on premium; stay tuned!

Mr. Chairman…
I get and understand the BACK ski….
However, the FRONT ski appears to perhaps LIMIT your “turn” through the swing?
In the few swings that you made in this video, you “lifted up” on a couple?
Very UNLIKE YOU!
Wonder if the lead-ski was inhibiting your weight transfer towards the target?
Love this place and you guys
dude abides
Dude!! That just means I need to work at this drill more!! 😀👍
It is something that I have struggled with my whole life because of how aggressive my earlier years of golf were; now with the Henrik Drill and this drill, things are getting better and the feelmthrough the shot is sooo distinctive when you do it right!!
Love this one; Shawn
