  • From Ronald Burkholder on EAGLE PUTTING EXCLUSIVE

Shawn, great video. I have been putting with my eyes closed for over four years. Cured my impact yips. I cant see the putter go back or come through, so I can’t manipulate the impact speed, path, or impact face angle. I don’t make every putt, but I make almost all the short ones. My stock putt goes about 7 to 9 paces depending on green speed, so any putt inside 9 paces is done eyes closed using only gravity to create the stroke.

Very cool! That is great feedback, thank you!
have you also tried looking at the hole while putting? Great for long putts!

  • From Flip Gentry on SENIOR SERIES PART 3- RELEASE AND SNAP

    Shawn ,
This question was answered in the “confirmation focus series part 2”. The snap of the release appears to happen as a result of the lead leg applying force to the ground thereby stopping the body momentarily and sending the “water out of the towel”. If
I have this wrong, please let me know.
Great video and very well explained.
    Thanks

Exactly! And I hope you understand that this is our “self preservation” system at work and that you are a witness to the CNS doing this for you. What the original command was to activate this was you looking for the weight of the arm-club unit snap release itself in the direction you want the ball to start based on the flight plan you chose.

Glad you are enjoying! The length of the backswing must allow you to deliver AN EFFORTLESS heavy whip with EASE. Check out “purpose of the backswing” video for that and “the backswing series” with doctor Jeremy Moody!

Hi Shawn, when i do pmd (i swing right handed) my left thumb starts to move down so it’s not as extended compared to when i start which is holding the club like an umbrella. Not sure why this is happening and what I can do to fix this.

    • From Shawn Clement on Lesson with Michael - Grip Function

Just place the thumb in a position that will allow it to stay in place during the PMD; could be long, could be short or somewhere in the middle. Think function and not look, the umbrella is just a guide but does not necessarily work for 100% of golfers; do what works for you.
must be a secure grip THAT STAYS SECURE and allows for a full release without moving.

Hi Shawn, you stay you want to start the ball at the left edge of the IP for a draw in this video, isn’t the right edge for draw and left for fade?

Happy New Year Shawn to you and the Wisdom crew. I think this video tracks well with the next hurdle for me getting that confirmed release feel with the pull in the shoulder sockets you always talk about. When you talk about “looking for the snap” around the 22 minute mark, how do you “look for” that snap feel without manufacturing it?

It seems if you try to create it you will be involved in manipulation. I can throw in a direction without effort but the ball slides off the face and stays right much like you described with Mu from the left. I am quite closed with the club face so it is not that. Ball starts right and fades so my guess is path is good but face feels open and not compressing the ball.

I’ve discovered, when I go for the release it straightens out but I have to think about it happening around my front pocket rather than it happening naturally. It is not consistent so how do I cross over to getting the feeling without manipulation so I can get back to my target without worrying about when the snap happens?

Also any plans to visit the western US in the spring like last year?

You are close! You want to make the snap the focus but not the manipulation; letting the weight of the arm-club unit snap you in the direction you want to start the ball. This way you get the task and direction of task down and that is very healthy! See “target confirmation series” and “snap release polish” videos

  • From [email protected] on DRIVER SENDING TEE TIPS TO TARGET With PMD!

Hi Shawn, feeling more and more confident in the irons with my natural draw and 170y. My driver gives around 150 mph ball speed but don’t get over 260y. Any specific videos or other measurements I should check next time on TopTracer? Have a Ping driver from last year 9,5

  • From [email protected] on Lead Hand Release

Hi Shawn, sorry for all the questions but trying to dig deeper into the rabbit hole:-)
I finally get the feeling of the sword but I noticed I didn’t lead with the left hand but was cupping the left wrist at impact (I think).
When I reach the finish position my left wrist/hand is basically 90 degrees like a waiter caring a plate of beer glases. It’s hard to see in the video but it looks like the wrist should be straight at finish so I’m think I’m either releasing to much to my left or maybe have week wrists? Any othe video I can check out?
    Thanks!

Do a top spin backhand in ping pong or use the hammer like I show in the video; see how the weight of the hammer does the work and allow the hand to turn and re-hinge without letting go of the grip. See also “turbo charge lead hand release” and “snap release polish”

Are there any benefits between baseball grip and overlap? I have used overlap but feel I would be more powerful with my right index to put pressure on the knife with a baseball grip. I have pretty long and thin fingers 🙂

Very much worth your while to try it out! Between the 2, there is no grip better than the other and it completely depends on the individual and their personal physical makeup.

Hi Shawn, would you say the hammer represent short irons swing with the more up and down?
If so, is there another tool to use for practicing the driver swing that is more flat?

Great video, I can’t believe how much club speed Sav is getting! Mhu, has a gorgeous swing, I loved the part when he kept his head in it, awesome! Can you please adopt me? LOL! Right now all my course is good for is some great Nordic skiing But I try and watch a spend some time practicing what you’re teaching for off-season. Thanks

Hi Shawn, I noticed today I was either over-swinging with Driver or I was losing my tilt until I picked a spot on the fairway to land the ball with my driver and then it all came together. Like somehow my body/mind knew exactly what I had to do to get it there when I had a precise target. This has been a short circuit for a while and this video reaffirms it.Thanks for all the awesome work at Wisdom in Golf! Game changing stuff!!

Trying to understand what drives the distance for my new driver as I have same/similar ballspeed and launch angle as you but ends up 50y shorter 😀 Is it the spinn left to check or is it also things like smashfactor and swing speed I need to check? Using a Ping G410 from last year with a 60g stiff shaft and 9degrees reduced -1 degree and flat setting.

    Hi Shawn,
I like your premium Videotraining/Youtube channel and your System of teaching golf. It’s way better than the normally used method of manipulating you body parts.
What I don’t like is looking at Sav and Mu, two twenty something (both lefties) at the peak of there physically ability doing the Training and you teaching them.
I´m 64 (righty, 31 handicap), play golf the third season, and have some physical issues with my body (knee with a TEP, lower back, arthritis in the hands etc) which don’t work as good as in the past. So I have problems to follow your teaching these two young athletes wich have none of theses problems. I am not in the least interested how long Sav and Mu can drive a ball with a driver.
I am doing winter training at my home since in Bavaria/Germany now the winter has come too and you can’t play golf outside. But I don’t have such a big space at my attic and I don’t have a 50000$ machine with a big TV to see my strokes.
I only have a small net to strike the balls in, that’s it.
I`m convinced that the majority of your subscribers have similar problems.
Could you please adjust your training videos so that meagre pupils of 60+ like me profit more and better from your teaching?
    Thanks a lot!
All the best to you and your family in 2021!
    Tom

Hi Tom! Yes! This is why we have the “senior series” which I encourage you to watch as soon as possible; you will realize that the techniques we teach are for absolutely everyone from 8 to 98 years of age. I take a lot of pride in my understanding of human anatomy and neurology; and you can take everything I teach Savy and Mu and apply it to yourself as I always say, “with ease” and “no strain” when performing the tasks of throwing the club and cutting the grass. My example is definitely best for you and you can also go check out the series I did on the backswing with Dr Jeremy Moody who is 68 in the video. Enjoy!
