Shawn I just got back from a club throwing session
I noticed my shorter clubs were no problem, good flight plan, right on target (when my focus was where I wanted the club to go, including height which is a biggie w throwing I’ve found)
But with my old driver I noticed a lot of the misses were to the left. The release felt the same as the other clubs but I’d say 9/10 driver throws were left
Do you need to feel that release sooner? Throw more to the right with longer clubs? (RH golfer)
Kinetic chain facilitation series; use the tee flick into forward summersault with ball on a string task; very sound! Been driving this way for 3 years straight and have never been a better driver in my career! Use momentum to power everything.
Shawn! For timing of this release, if my tendency in the past has been to open up too soon (likely defaulting to the ball) can you feel that the release happens behind you? In reality it doesn’t, but the intent to sort of start the push / pull release (we need a name for this, I’ve never seen an instructor explain this and I think it’s crucial info!) from the top, especially with longer clubs, my body reacts to that release intent and gets out of the way
Previously I’ve interpreted “get out of the way” as the body turning then the arms swinging through. Feeling the hands work in this manner sooner naturally gets my body out of the way as a reaction because I’m trying to sweep the dirt out there into the picture or fling the lacrosse ball to the target.
Correct! If my intent is to let the weight of the club release my arm anatomy; in the direction I want to start the ball past the IP, then the brain must organize the engagement of the kinetic chain to allow for this to happen. To think about using the hips to manually clear is throwing a big monkey wrench into the spokes of this self preserving wheel!
Morning. I am getting back into golf. I have had the strong grip for a bit but some how I’m back to flipping, hitting high short shots with no power. Looking forward to the lessons. If you have any advice on which video I should look at for the flipping/casting, it would be much appreciated.

then see “blur of club” and “alignment reset” and “arc blur unstoppable momentum series”
this will get you not only the release needed but the all important ANCHOR to that release.
As an add on Shawn, I’ve had the intent to release towards the backswing release point in the downswing
So when doing PMD drill, I’m really throwing it into each release back and through, but my intent from the top of the backswing is to get release at the 4 o clock position (backswing release actual) and my intent from the top of the through swing is to throw it to 8 o clock (downswing full release point). By the time the club actually releases its fully extended out in front of me at the exact same spot everytime.
Not sure if I’ve understood the release. I was holding the release and trying to force the swoosh at 8 o clock. I never realized it’s just try to slash at 4 o clock and the body will respond by removing itself.
So the purpose of the backswing is just to create enough room in the back and downswing for the release to occur? What’s a good video rabbit hole to polish this up with?

I’m new to Sean Clements. 90 years young. Scores run from 82 to 95, Normally hit 6 out of 9 gir. playing 9 holes. Driver distance is 130 to 190 yds. 9 iron 100 yds. Currently using Cobra one length irons. Good 3 wood from fairway is 165 yds.
Where do I start and what should my sequence be using the site.

This video transformed my game for the better, major “AHA” for me. Haven’t put any range time in but have been playing once a month or so since early Spring but have been struggling with consistency of any kind, struggling with pulls, hooks or both at the same time.
Played last Saturday at a tough, tight course I’ve never played at, it has no room for wayward tee shots and has really tricky green complexes. Only hit one tee ball into the junk and was sticking the greens or just off of them all round. Shot an 82 finishing off with bogey, double bogey and probably had 6 lip outs over the course of the round. Golf finally felt effortless again and can’t wait to get back out there. For the draw yes, for the fade, you are playing the ball forward of centre so you are already behind it. The key is feeling that you can let momentum swing through the arc that passes through the ball and to the right of the IP. If you are too much behind the ball, you feel like you will drop kick to the right and not enough behind the ball, you feel like you will take deep divots and pull left.
So my issue when I pick my target as soon as I look down at the ball my mind just thinks ball no matter how hard I think of the blur of the club would it help if I looked at the intermediate point when I swing?
It can take a while; if you look at the hammer drill video, we are squeezing the ball through the doorframe essentially compressing it into the direction of flight, but the way you collect it with your hands ahead and the trail arm still bent and then extend through that compression into the flight plan all the while using momentum to carry you through the whole thing.
When on the tee box, on par 3s, I tee it right behind a divot and see the sole of club whip through the bottom of the divot and my eyes are in the divot. So yes, that can work for sure! With Driver, I went a nice couple of weeks with the eyes between the ball and the IP and focused on waiting till momentum brought the club through that spot which meant I was in the clear for staying with the shot. hey shawn, developed a bad habit lately. I am tending to move my shoulders towards the ball as i start my downswing and it causes me to hit big pulls from time to time. Any tips for getting this under control?

your anatomy is actually designed to perform this for you!
I would go to the “perpetual motion drill series” and master that drill where you will get to see the low point not only in the downswing, but also the backswing. Then see “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” and in #6, one of my favourites, when you walk and send divots to a target, the low point magically happens naturally by pure anatomy alone.

The grip and club relationship is a huge deal to allow you to let the club release your anatomy into the direction of flight. You will see “grip” and “grip part2” as well as “important grip update”
I am using Sav’s strong grip and using braced tilt to square up club face at address on draws. When I do that my lead hand feels like it is on top making it feel weird to have it feel like it’s underneath going back Am I missing something here?
I love how the drill reinforces the motion through the ball rather than ‘at’ it. This is one of my key learnings from our lessons last week. It’s already made my driving much more fluid and consistent.
