It’s been good to get into this. I’ve been smashing the driver and trying to dial in a nice high draw with it. One thing I get is a well struck ball that doesn’t turn over back to the target. Perhaps I need to close the face more or release a bit less right of my target?

Shawn Clement

You are on the right track!
1-you gotta be able to put your hand in the fire and swear you stayed with a nice RELEASE in the direction you wanted to start the ball.
2-if not, what distracted you from performing that?
3-if you do stay with it, congrats! You are on your way as then you can identify a pattern and make small adjustments as you go!

ndj209@gmail.com

That’s exactly it!

Confirming the release has been huge. When I know I released it where I intended, it’s easy to observe the pattern as you said.

No thinking about wrist angles or back swing depth. Just making the adjustment to the release or the face or simply playing the ball flight!

If I set up left of the fairway and release to the center of the fairway and the ball goes straight down the fairway, who is gonna argue with that?!?

Boom!! You get it!! 👌💪👍😀

Really good video for me… I’ve been having a bout of topping tee shots. In watching this I know I need to work on a focusing on the top of the tee and my target. Also my left foot..( I’m a 61 y/o lefty). On the backswing I roll to the outside of the left foot instead of keeping it solid. Also noticed how Saavs right foot rolls to the instep whereas i tend to lift the heel. Need to work on these things while keeping my focus on my target!

Hey Rich! If you maintain the focus on sending the “tip of tee” into the direction you want the ball to start, then you will be in a much better state of mind to find the target; you are looking to join the flight plan and not the end target. See “matching backswing to ball direction” and the “arc-blur” videos.

Great video! Would you apply these same concepts when using a 3 wood or 5 wood but with less tilt than a Driver?
