Shawn–Regarding your video on a strong grip: I have done it both ways: First, I rotate the club to 45 degrees, address it and rotate back to square. (which creates a seriousl amount of torque). The second way is to simply lift the club and place the four knuckle grip on it. Question: Is either way preferable over the other? Am I missing something? The second way is the most comfortable for me. Thanks in advance. Gene
Thank you, needed this, been keeping the ball just off the inside heel of lead leg. Have lacked consistency, this could be the reason. Will Keep the club more centered and ball just infront.
It is whichever you feel best with; some prefer eyes in front on grass with the understanding that the ball cannot prevent them from sending those clippings; as in the “stick the finish despite the ball series”
yes shawn, adjusted my grip stronger and made sure my grip was overlaping an not interlock.seems to take care of pain in my thumb.
as far as what feel or see going to target . I see beyond the ball about a foot or less.
I did use the c. no evil tool to block sight of ball with some success.
but what really helped was the video of gym rope. the pause in back swing but I have to fine tune cause like u said in video if u pause to long the motor stops and short wrists don t have chance to cock completely.

Shawn, I noticed on this video that it appears that you are using a slightly open stance when executing the pitch shot (unless it is only camera angle). Is it OK and/or beneficial to use a slightly open stance when pitching?
Yes, very ok to use a slightly open stance; helps momentum clear towards the target; the key to the open stance is to not feel like it is diverting the momentum left of target (for the right handed player, unless it is a bunker shot or a flop shot; for the “draw pitch” it feels like the momentum is going STRAIGHT AT IT, because the side spin will not affect the shot the way it will in a full shot.
Shawn, this pitching video instruction looks very much to me like the AXE drill as shown on your “Weight shift with SAVY” video.Your axe drill instruction has really helped my full swing. Is the the amount of momentum (using Goldilocks) applied the only difference between this pitching swing and the axe drill motion that i use for my full swing ?
Yes, correct! Imagine the first few strikes into the tree with full momentum and then the last finishing strike in comparison. The last finishing strike is still momentum, but softer.
Use the “lead hand release” and “trail hand release” then “turbo charge lead and trail hand release” then the “target confirmation series” to get through the ball;
shawn, hit 160 shots today solved the pain in thumb used stronger grip and also found my trail hand was loosening up.
feet together hit all the way up to driver with good results by letting my catapult making sure that I was performing drill correctly with feet glued to ground ,knees together and allowing my legs to extend back and thru with me focused on on area several inches in front of ball.
after that went feet apart and performed well with HPM ,It seemed to work excellent because of the work you had us do with feet together.

Hi Shawn, new to the game this year and was able to break 100 with your videos. Great stuff, irons look great even the hybrid but when it comes to the 3 wood and especially the driver I have a huge slice. I use the strong grip and have tried the diagonal stance but always seem to come through too fast and open. Iv been doing the perpetual motion drill to slow my tempo and when I apply that to my drive it seems to have no power and doesn’t get distance. Any tips or drills I can work on? Thank you
Use a 7 iron and go to the “draw fine tuning” video; get that ball to snap hook like crazy and feel that compression when it happens; then come back to the driver and do the same!
Hi Shawn, I am struggling with early extension that I believe is causing me to hit off the toe. Is this the primary video/drill for addressing that issue? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Hey John! Sorry I missed this one! I sometime struggle with falling back with my posture on the backswing; when I do, I hit the toe as well and my immediate remedy is the 2 swing drill. Check it out!
Hi andrew! See the “2 tee drill perpetual motion” and “unstoppable momentum series divots”; for a great strike, the club needs to stay along the ground for a while!
