After low back injury and pain sidelined me from golf for 2 years, I have been studying your premium channel videos all along with mixed results initially shooting scores of 95 to 97 for my first 3 rounds back on the course. I have been trying to implement your teaching instruction into my practice sessions on the range. I really like using your teaching focus on performing “Tasks” versus trying to manipulate my body into specific positions taught by other youtube instructors. But I played a round this week with much greater success by scoring an 84. I attribute this improvement from your videos about cutting grass with the grass whip, the perpetual motion drill, and actually tossing clubs out toward a target. In addition, studying and applying this particular video “Battering Ram Jackknife to Finish” which highlights the importance of “sticking the finish” with my chest facing the target and ensuring my wrists are allowed to be fully recocked has me hitting crisper, longer, and straighter shots. I finally beat my playing partner for the first time in a lot of years. Thanks for such effective golf instruction.

I notice on all your videos that you and Sav both establish a straight line relationship at address from the clubhead up thru the club shaft , and up thru a straight lead arm and finally up to the lead/left shoulder. Could you explain if this straight line from the clubhead up to the left shoulder is important and why? Thanks

Shawn, I understand the Battering Ram drill but don’t understand “Jack Knife” implication in the title of this video? Maybe I just don’t understand what a Jack Knife is ?? Could you explain? Thanks

Hi Shaun. New member and my first post. Firstly congratulations on your outstanding golf project with a wealth of brilliant information that you present in an easy to understand and entertaining manner. Taking some of your concepts on board yesterday, it was the first time in 5 years that i have actually smiled on a golf course. Respct!
My question is.. your hands are much further from the body at impact, does this mean the body has to move backwards in the downswing to counteract the inertia of the arms and club? I know you like analogies so if you look at an olympic hammer thrower you will see the body goes further and further back and lower to the ground to counteract the speed of the rotation increasing.

Shawn Clement

Hey Ian! So glad you are enjoying the content! LOVE THE HAMMER THROW! See the “throwing series” and I compare the driver to the hammer throw in the title “hammer throw driver”
to get this awesome feel, see all the “feet together drill” and the “uphill shots”, “ball below the feet” and “bolted and centred” videos.
