    Great that we can see this fitting 👍 Interesting stuff 🤔 What if Matt starts hitting later more that medium draw, that he was talking and spin get even more lower?

    • From Admin on Iron Fitting

      Absolutely, generally speaking a draw will always have less backspin than a fade. I actually found it easier to hit the ball straighter/with a slight draw with the Srixon iron that Ian recommended, so I’m sure that was a factor in reducing the spin numbers in addition to the different clubhead and shaft.

    Really enjoying my Premium membership. thank you for all that you do. My question is that on your back swing. It looks like you go back slow and deliberate, and regardless of how far you want to hit the ball, the back swing is way short of the parallel. Am I interpreting correctly that the real speed comes from using the ground and throwing the club and is not too much dependent on the length of the backswing. I can’t wait to go on the range and try what I have learned so far. Thanks again. Regards, Mo Zareh

      Right on Mo! Exactly right!
      Not only do you have a backswing that “appears” to be shorter because of the tilt required to deliver to the target vs delivering towards the ball, you get to use the ground and engage the MAGIC KINETIC CHAIN which loads the ground and catapults the arm club unit through the impact zone and DEEP into the target when you focus on throwing the club; and the bonus is that the brain will never overdo or underdo the backswing when you throw without thinking!

    In part one when you are talking about shutting the club face or open it, do you recommend regripping once you shut or slightly open the face? I have noticed my draw stays pretty straight and realize I am gripping then shutting the face without regripping. I tried what you are talking about in a mirror and it only works when I regrip.

    In Part 1 you discuss closing the clubface and appear to regrip. My question is should we be regripping after shutting the face before the takeaway?

      Hi Harley;
      Sorry for the delay; lost my Ipad and had to get another this weekend; long story!
      If she is showing you positions to hit, run! We are completely NOT MADE TO KNOW WHERE OUR BODY PARTS ARE. WE ARE TASK BASED MACHINES!
      If you look at my “throwing the club” video on the regular channel on youtube, which is the “club speed” video on premium and you go find a nice SAFE PLACE TO DO THIS, you will see that your weight shift and body rotation will come all by itself like MAGIC!! Without thinking!!

    Hi! I am very pleased in your demonstrations all the time.
    Here is a short question. I have some difficulty in driver swing, though. Is this release method(a quick turning of left hand) appliable onto driver swing, too?

      Shawn, your teaching is the best. After plalying for over 50 years and watching way too many videios of other teachers and reading many golf books, I settled on your teaching over the winter here in Ohio. I then purchased the premium subscription. It is well done and have helped me immensely. I have increased my driver distance by 30 yards just by studying the backswing lessons…elevating a little more and going back a little farther. I no longer watch golf channel or read any books except Anatomy of Greatness.

      One question about the book., should we try to apply the “stretch – shortening cycle ” ?

      Thanks again for your fantastic teaching…I wish you were in the states so I could attend your school !

      Thank you Dr JJ! The greatest form of validation is when we get Medical Doctors like you with the best Anatomical background which stems from a deep seeded way of studying anatomy; your mind can see the perfect harmony between this task of golf and how the human body was made and the human brain was wired to use this body. MASSIVELY IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NAVIGATE THIS SEA OF RIDICULOUS OBSTACLES that the golf industry keeps throwing at us. You could say Wisdom in Golf is a shield in a huge tomato fight! 😝😜😀. Hi Harley; are you talking about the “rotary swing”?

    • From Harley Towler on Arm Swing vs Body Turn

      I THINK SO. THE EMPHASIS IS ON LOWER HIPS REALLY TURNING WITH MORE OF AN UPPER BODY TURN AND HIT FOLLOWING. UPPER BODY IS FAIRLY OPEN AT IMPACT. THANKS AS USUAL. HARLEY.

      let me make a video of this for you Harvey; rotary swing is still a positional and resisting lower body in the backswing and what you describe is still something that nobody needs to think about during a task based motion to a target;

      Okay, it’s getting easier to stay on task. By cutting Dandelions toward my intermediate target, I can trust my mechanics and better control the path of my swing.

      But it’s sooo hard! I keep defaulting back to controlling my body movements instead of focusing on tasks.

    Yes, the same release with the driver; make sure your distnce to ball is far enough too! Many golfers do not stand far enough from the ball with the driver to allow the “ball on a string” to fully deploy to get this full release!

    Did you see the driver videos as well as the “distance to ball” videos?

    Agree with the comment about the winter sessions. I practice quite a bit and the grip change, feel and focus and reprogramming via your sessions really shows results in consistent easier ball compression. I worry less about the pieces of the swing and setup, distance to ball, knee action etc. Just Goldilocks if needed then a few key focus points like closed face at address, head behind the ball throughout, r arm separation, width of backswing and letting the natural weight of the acu follow the r elbow to the target. Sounds like a friggin promo. This is fun. J.

  • From Kevin Hartman on Brandel Chamblee - Anatomy of Greatness Book

    Shawn, in the book Brandel seems to favor moving off the ball just a little bit as you start the swing, however you don’t seem to mention that in what I’ve seen and advocate for more of a center pivot from what I can tell. Is there a reason you don’t subscribe to moving off the ball like Chamblee suggests?

    • From Shawn Clement on Brandel Chamblee - Anatomy of Greatness Book

      Hi Kevin!
      The deal in the book is this: FINALLY, someone is noticing what I noticed and confirmed 25 flipping years ago; the problem is that Brandel is STILL FUMBLING AROUND TALKING ABOUT BODY POSITIONS instead of understanding how the brain is wired for tasks to deliver the correct body positions;
      This is his opinion being delivered as to what his eye sees and is an interpretation of what is going on; the best video to see how the body performs what you are talking about here is the “walk to a better swing” on the regular youtube channel and “walking and swinging” video in the premium channel; once you have performed this action, after a bit (or a lot) of practice, you will get to see how brainless this action of loading and shifting the weight is! 👍😀😝

      I would definitely recommend that Jeremy; would love to see how all your tools line up; your irons are a bit questionable as to the fit; but it looks like the woods are pretty good right now; I would start with an iron fitting and see what he recommends!
