My arms tend to get too far behind me and not high enough above my shoulder. Is there a good way to practice getting my arms and the club higher?

Shawn Clement

You bet! See “using the weight in your swing-axe drill with Savy” and perform that drill to hit some shots; then see “backswing levitation” and “perpetual motion drill series”

Craig Hofer

In the first video I notice your student has the same tendency as I to break our wrists in a kind of release through the ball instead of maintaining the ACU structure through the entire chipping swing. This is a powerful urge. I found that if I place my trail elbow well in front of my torso (just above my navel) and keep it there I can make myself keep the ACU from start to finish but it feels like a manipulation with my elbow pinned there. Thoughts on this issue?

This was one of the best series for me. The backswing with the awareness on the rib cage and shoulders allowed the levitation for me. I used to be focussed all the way from the knee to hips and that caused all sorts of sway and loss of freedom. I also like the crazy closed thought for a draw. thanks much

I do not see any braced tilt in his setup, what am I missing here.

I have experimenting with lifting the lead foot heel at the top of the swing to give a better shoulder turn for the full swing. I noticed that your student doesn’t do this. Do you have a video that addresses this issue? When to do this, and when not to allow the heel to come off the ground.
