Great videos, thanks Shawn! I’m studying video 1…at 5min…don’t let left arm hit you going back, and don’t let right arm hit coming through…pls confirm, this is substantial, and prevents an “armsy” (and inside) takeaway. At 11min, he comes too inside, and the fix is hitting below red (changing path and shot shape and direction)…if Dr. wanted to hit right of green box, he may have the same inside takeaway issue, unless he thinks (does) “don’t crash arms against body”…is my assessment correct? and then, some magic at 13min…i think so many of us do this…awesome to catch it in the video. My take is that bc the shot is so short, and path is more in to out, its easy to be armsy and bring the club inside on the takeaway (im wondering if you agree that he did this at 13min)…and when the path changes to more out to in, (like what happened at 11min), it forces more of the shoulder turn (less armsy).
I think that this topic is huge for me…i think that i can be too armsy on my takeaway, and it can cause my dangerous heel shots. Perpetual motion helps me be less armsy…the challenge is coming off the static setup.
I hope my assessments are correct…pls share your thoughts
Yes, you are spot on!
see the “backswing masterclass” and the “20-40-60 yard shots” videos; then see the “super slow, super relaxed super wide” backswing series. All big AH HA MOMENTS to confirm your findings here!!
Awesome, thanks, Shawn! I’ll check out these videos!
Thank you for the recommended videos, Shawn. I spent time watching closely and listening carefully. I also practiced a little of the 20-40-60, and found it enlightening…staying wide, and thinking about the sledgehammer, turning my body, and getting it out of the way….lots of great feels with this…I’ll be doing a lot more of this work.
And the hinge…”backswing masterclass”…2min 40sec….”fanning it open”…this is exactly what I was concerned with!
Words can’t express the gratitude that I have for your teachings…you’re in a league of your own, and the golf world is blessed to have you! Thank you!
When I get lost, this is the sequence I come back to. The word “levitation” is a genius strike. Thanks for your patient kindness.
Awesome Keith! Thank you for the great feedback!
Shawn
The child on the swing hitting the ball chipping analogy is simplistic genius.I’m in awe of your ability to reach through your students swing hurdles with concise easy to understand solutions
Right on Joe! Much appreciated! This comes through as a collective effort between you guys and me. What an awesome collection of wisdom we are creating!! 🔥🫶👌😀
Excellent series. Doctor Moody’s excitement and glee I think in the 4th part on hitting a good shot felt exactly what I go through.
Also the levitation what the Doc talks about resonated with the lesson you gave me.
The extra time at top is what I am trying to get the feel of.
I swing my driver at 107 MPH, but i carry around 255-260 Yards. I need to gain another 20 yards. Have flat lined at max 260Y.
I found the Recoil F1 and F2 suit me ( which are ladies and senior flex) and am able to hit a great flight and dead straight with these.
This is where you will need the help of a good launch monitor that can get you spin details; we need to get your spin down as I suspect your spinning the ball in excess of 3000 RPM;
“Unstoppable momentum” series and “momentum already there before you start your swing series” is where you want to go next
and the – na na na na video ? 🙂
That always has to do with transition; I don’t remember exactly where that video is but a good guess is “using the weight in your swing-axe drill with Savy” which would be a great video for you!
