your umbrella or suitcase analogy shows the shaft to be at 90* to the palm. Doesn’t the shaft follow the line at the base of the last three fingers, or at an angle of approximately 105* to the palm.
Respectfully
Ron
Hi Ron!
We don’t do positions; they don’t work for most people; just focus on having the most secure grip with your lead hand. If it’s too much at 90 degrees, it won’t feel solid and if it’s too much diagonal in the palm it will feel week and wobbly. Which position feels the most secure wins! 😀👍
Hi Shawn Love your stuff I am a long time follower of your advice
Way back perhaps 8 years . Since starting back after almost a year out I am struggling to get my left hand placed correctly. Whenever I hold the club like an umbrella my face rotates closed. I find myself fiddling with the grip to get the face square. Any thoughts that you feel might help.
Shawn
First of all, I want you to know I had my best golf performance ever for winter golf. I made 4 eagles which is pretty good for a 75 year old man. I credit my success to your teachings and thank you for them. But, lately I’ve started to hit the ball too low and my miss is to the left with a low draw. Would you say my grip is too strong or is my ball position too far back? Your recent videos call for a very strong grip, which doesn’t seem to work for me.
Thanks again Ron
Hey Ron! You want to use the prediction process for the grip and club relationship as well as the ball position; please see “predict contact” and “the goldie locks series” and then see “the process series”

Your umbrella or suitcase analogy places the the palm at 90* to the shaft. Doesn’t the shaft follow the the
line formed by the base of your last three fingers, which forms an angle of approximately 115*

Hey Shawn,
Very instructive video. I keep learning. I have remained at nearly flat learning curve, until I started with your instructions. One small point. The video keeps stopping at times. May be an olde video. One thing more. At what spot of the ball do you focus, on different shots?
Use the little cog wheel in the bottom right to adjust the resolution and bring it lower to either 720 or 360 when the internet traffic is too busy in your area. NEVER FOCUS on the ball; the ball stays an intersection on the way to the target. See “blur of club” video for more on this and next week’s upload will have a fantastic update on that too. Shawn
