Shawn:
Last drive of the rd today I threw into a natural patented Shawn Clement twirl follow thru does that indicate I am making progress? It was my best drive of the rd

Shawn Clement

Great stuff Steven! It means you had more follow through that had to be dissipated in a way not to injure you; and that means the kinetic chain engaged nicely and got you well through the shot into the picture! 👍😀💪

Shawn, if the feeling of swinging a hammer allows for a better sense of gravity and proper release, then what is your thought on playing a higher swing weight?

The best driver day of my life was on vacation once using a buddies driver that had a ton of lead tape on it. Felt like an anvil, but I was hitting 30 yards longer than avg. When I got home, I tried to recreate the feel on my own club and could not control it well. Figured the higher swing weight and length were likely just coincidence and never tried it again. Your videos have me thinking it might be valid to try it again though.

Sorry I missed this one Kenneth! What happened there is what usually happens when you are reacting naturally to something and riding the wave. Then you TRY TO FORCE IT BACK. Manufacturers get us with this every year when they come out with new gear. We take the club and swing with a sense of “let’s see what happens” and swing freely. Then we try to “make sure” to re-create it. See “pre-motor cortex series” in premium, a must watch and practice and implement into every shot to have access to flow state. Shawn

Hi Shawn I was thinking when I was using the hammer that i would not break my wrists to hammer a nail. So is the golf swing left hand approach similar keeping the same as nailing the nail. through the hitting zone?

Ron Dziuk

This is so my problem. I felt like I was putting the breaks on my follow-through and it was also killing my shoulder and upper back. My body and golf game thank you. 🙂

Shawn, should any effort be made with the hands or fore arms to produce the release? Or does the release happen naturally?
Thanks
