Hi Shawn, You mention the word tasks alot. I understand that you need to prepare a task in your mind and have the picture there before you swing. I would like to have the thought of skipping a stone on the water using my right hand because i feel i can generate a lot of power using my right hand to release the club. Is there anything wrong with this approach or Is there a better way?
Hi Shawn, long time youtube subscriber, now on Premium, i’m a little confused by the message here, if we’re task focussed and looking for the blur ark that matches our shot/target/task intention in our practice swing, surely thoughts about crossing the line or being laid off at the top are an unnecessary distraction? if the blur ark matches the intention surely you’re good to go? therefore trying to maniplulate the club to be laid off or across the line at the top is an side effect and a naural part of the processes and not the goal? its kind if like trying to see the back of your head in the mirror if that makes sense.
for the record i’m usually a little bit across the line at the top and have a little bit of a flying elbow, the extent varies depending on what i’m trying to achieve, but i dont chase it, it just happens, hope that makes sense, thanks
Hi Shawn, If the driver ball position is off the left instep or heel, will I not fade the ball all the time because the arc is coming inside by the time im hitting the ball? How would I hit a draw with driver? I cant move the ball right of center for the driver. Thanks
As for more distance, please see “the throwing series” where we throw all the lengths of clubs from wedge to driver; then see “lead hand release”, “trail hand release”, “release fine tuning” and snap release polish”
Then when you have a good feel for that we go to “turbo charge the lead hand release and turbo charge the trail hand release” and “pumping up the volume” videos. Take your time and fully digest!

Shawn, FYI. 2 weeks ago i scored an 88 on a local golf course i play regularly. The next day I found you on youtube and started watching the free content. I got hooked and watched the whole week. I played the same course and applied what i had learnt. I scored an 81 with two 3 putts and a ball that unluckily plugged in the side of a bunker. I hit the most greens in regulation I have ever hit, hit my irons like butter , chipped and pitched better and sunk more putts from longer distances. It was a round i really enjoyed! So thank you!

To keep the rope on a string feeling the ACU feels like it is pulling out of the shoulder sockets. Like the feeling of tossing a sledgehammer. If I don’t have this feeling then I’m manipulating and not swinging? This taut rope feeling needs to be maintained through the backswing past the intermediate then released into the target?
Yes, you get the idea! The transition from backswing to through swing feels like a nice pause; just like you were using an axe to a tree with the cut just below the waist; see “the throwing series” where we throw clubs of all different lengths including something longer than the driver which will help the image.
I know you used to talk about left and right arm dominant. When you swing the driver like in this video do you even feel either one dominant or does it just feel like the arms and club all swing together as one unit?
both my swings improved and became more tidy when they became 2 arms and one club as a single unit; the ACU was born and thousands of golfers have confirmed it since then! 👍👌💪😀
Hi Shawn, I noticed that a few of the tasks are using the arm muscles and body to complete the task. This is confusing to me because Im understanding that I shouldnt’ be using any muscles in the arms to swing. Am I missing something here?
Are the arms supposed to feel very loose in the swing? Should i let the arms do their own thing going back and through?
What muscles do you use to pull the trigger on the backswing?
The key here is providing TONE to the arms; if they are too loose, then when the kinetic chain grabs them, it’s like a catapult with a paper arm! So we are using momentum to complete all tasks; cutting through stem, throwing the club, sending grass clippings or divots, squeezing through door frames, spinning tees…You want to ready that momentum to carry you through all the way to the finish and stick the finish.
Shawn this is absolute GOLD! I ran across this video just scrolling through the site and I was like man, that sounds like me so I checked it out. Started with the wedge just to get the feel and now I’m flushing every club in the bag with the double-overlap. As soon as I go back to my regular grip…bam!…the inconsistency comes back. Trying to develop a practice plan around this but boy is it frustrating. Right now doing sets of 3 balls rotating between double-overlap and single overlap to try to ease myself into it. Not sure how else to approach it. Either way, this video should be seen by a LOT more golfers because it is money!

Shawn, I have been working on strengthening my grip. I viewed your putting video on You Tube about not manipulating the club. I’m a 10 handicap and 74 yrs old. Played Saturday and shot 77. All I thought about When putting was see the ball in the hole and no manipulation. It changed everything. Every once in a while I throw in turning my hands over and smothering the ball. What video would be good for that. Also I live in Atlanta and recently saw your video with Jamie Letts. I am about 2 hours away. Would he be good to take a lesson from on how to keep working with the strong grip? Thanks. Having fun!
So I met with Jamie Letts today. It was a great experience. He showed me that my grip wasn’t really as strong as I thought. We did the 3 tees in the ground drill for draw, cut, and straight. Ball position is huge. He had me striping the ball- even with the driver. We mostly just worked on setup and it really opened my eyes. Can’t wait to go practice the drills. I see now why the blur exercise is so important as well as the intermediate point needs to be right in front of the ball. One time I used the intermediate point about 4 feet in front of me and I pulled it left. Thank you for doing the video with Jammie and the referral. Over and out for now!

Tell your friend respectfully to stop distracting you with body part positions and wasting your time. Alignment, ball position, distance to ball, LET MOMENTUM ROLL THE BALL INTO THE PICTURE OF A BALL ROLLING INTO THE HOLE AT THE SPEED YOU WANT IT TO GO IN ON.

Yes, when the putt slows down in the last 4 to 6 feet from the hole, this is when it takes the break and moves; so that area is where you want to perform the visualisation.
