Hello Shawn, love this video. I have noticed on Your’s, Sav’s and Mou’s set ups that the shoulders are slightly closed to the path and the knee is canted a bit into the ball for a draw.

I have been trying to find a video (I’m pretty new to your site) that explains in detail the body set up on your website. I had been instructed to keep everything (hip, shoulders, feet) parallel to the target from all the lessons I have received, but I really like this set up that you are using……it looks more powerful in delivering the club head to the ball and promoting a draw…thanks in advance.

That is the beauty of this site; no static stuff . See “draw fine tuning” and “fade fine tuning” and then see “diagonal stance series” and “how to match backswing to ball direction” and search “alignment” on the search box too.

I’ve been working on my grip, posture, and release for a while now and I have to tell you I can’t see how I will ever carry a 7-iron more than 150 yds. I’m lucky if my 7 even rolls 150 yds and I’m a fairly strong dude.

I still need to work on my grip a lot but I also feel like my grip is weak, even though I’m following all instructions properly. I’ve watched and watched and tried and tried, my swing feels weak and I can’t figure out why. Maybe it’s because of my release??

Shawn Clement

Hey Patrick! Sorry I missed this one!! Have you had a couple of club throwing sessions??
see “throw the club” and the “throwing series” and then see “predict contact” and the goldie locks series” to make sure you don’t default to the ball and a big video for this is “target confirmation series”
now, I don’t know where you are coming from but if you are restricting any body parts or you are being “careful” this will sap a lot of juice from the swing! See “pumping up the swing” as well as “open the machine on course” videos as this is what Bryson is doing BIG TIME!!!

Ish Marino

hi Shawn Savv and Moe, my question is not necessarily related to the video above, my question is,”How to prevent snap hooks “especially now that I’m using grip exactly like Savvy. Especially Driver

Shawn Clement

Hi Ish; sorry I missed this one! It is all about getting through the ball and into the direction you want to start the ball; WITH EASE!!! See “the goldie locks series” and “predict contact” and then for the strain level, see “pre-motor cortex series” and “target confirmation series”

Better!

Hello Shawn.I am a beginner, playing off and on. How do I tackle a ball, with iron or wood, on the fairways if the ground is hard and no grass?

saifrkhan@hotmail.com

Hello Shawn,
Thanks for your guidance. I will follow your valuable advice.

walker.vince@gmail.com

I have been focused on grip this week, trying to put some of this content into my own practice. I can’t tell you how on the money it is, thanks for producing it.

Shawn Clement

Yeah man! Time well spent!!

Dwiesen@comcast.net

driver setup middle of stance ball off right toe
aim middle right of fairway(left handed)
swing middle
am I swinging along toe line or along target line?
toward 3rd base ??

Shawn Clement

All right! Great questions, which tell me you are not using your intermediate point (IP) properly.
looks like your flight plan is draw from middle of fairway back to right side of fairway.
1-choose an IP that lines up with right side of fairway.
2-when you set up to that, find ball position that allows you to deliver to the left edge of the IP
3-grip and club face feels strong enough or closed enough so that when you deliver your “arc-blur” (see videos on this in search box) in the direction you want to start the ball, which is left of IP, which is centre of fairway, you feel the ball will curve back to right centre of fairway.
Videos to watch:
”arc-blur unstoppable momentum” videos
”great driver nugget”
”diagonal stance series”

Shawn, at 12:55 and other examples throughout the video you show the complete release with full supination of the left hand at the horizontal left direction to the target with the club face almost fully turned over instead of having the toe upright in most other instruction. Will this work without causing the ball to pull or even hook? Can you explain. If I attempt to do this I generally get hooks. How does this work?

vincent.regis@gmail.com

“18 degree launch is solid for a 9 iron”, wait! what???
What kind of stupidly strong lofts those clubs have?

Adam Hazelwood

Hi Shawn. I keep splitting the skin on my left thumb, just above the tip crease. What am I doing wrong? I’m guessing this should not happen.

I’m right handed.

I had to take a week off for work and vacation but I’m back for more fun “work”.
I have been focusing much on the trail hand grip. The details of that focus are the connection between the thumb and index finger and grip pressure. Since I have these women’s hands my question goes out to Savy. On a scale of 1 to 10 what do you feel your grip pressure is at address and into the takeaway. ?
Thank yinz

This is timely…I have used something like this to get back to basics when my swing is going bad. I can really sense the pressure/leverage doing this with around a 1/2 to 2/3 swing with an iron. However, when I get above that height, things become loose or out of sync and I have difficulty getting access to the leveraged feel. I’ve noticed the same issue when hitting the volleyball. (fun drill!) I can get good leverage with 1/2 or 2/3 type swings but a 3/4 to full swing gets wild. Any thoughts or ideas?

This is exactly what I need to do. Can’t wait to spend a week training with you once Covid is behind us

You switched away from ping!

Hi Shawn, I noticed you mentioned that Mu will be getting the Mavrik soon. That is also the line I’m considering for myself. Just curious, would you recommend the Mavrik or the Mavrik Pro for someone at around the same level (minus the distance)?

calvinhung13@hotmail.com

Thanks for your feedback! I’m currently using much older Mizuno JPX800 pro and I’ve tried both Mavrik briefly at Golftown but wasn’t enough to really tell which one is better for me.
