I’m a premium member and all of the premium videos are freezing–––without exception. I sometimes have to wait 2 to 3 minutes for a video to reboot. This has never happened with your public/ YouTube videos. Can you please troubleshoot this for me. I have a Mac with plenty of memory and processing capacity.
Just wanted to give you feedback about the freezing issue just in case others are experiencing the same problem. If you are using Safari, go to preferences>advanced>select Show Develop in Menu>Develop>Clear Caches. Once I did that and then set to a lower resolution (720). No more freezing. Worked like a charm.
Our apologies for the trouble streaming videos. Please try clicking the ‘gear’ icon in the video player and lowering the resolution of the video. This should allow the video to play back smoothly. YouTube’s video player does this automatically which is why you didn’t encounter this issue when the premium channel was through YouTube.
Just recently had a breakthrough with actually completing my backswing and what that actually feels like. Basically if I get that full turn and complete backswing mile marker I pretty much kill the ball with good direction with all clubs. The problem is when I need a half or 3/4 club/swing and I don’t get that full turn sensation or marker in my mind. End up trying to manufacturing some how and taking big fatty divots, because I’m reverse tilting I feel. How can I complete my backswing on non-full swings?
Keep the full range of motion but cut through the stem or throw the club to the target in a SOFTER TONE!
When you get to wedge shots; always feel like you are cutting through the stem of the dandelion ALONG THE GROUND; use the Goldie locks method to dial in the distance control; she is the bomb!!

I hit the occasional block to the right and was struggling to understand why. I think this explains it. I know I have a tendency to lift up so now I know how to correct this on the course. Brilliant.
just watched the last consistency series video. Very helpful video to provide a process framework for me. Being able to practice with mile markers “fades” away the old bad habits and bad focus. The GCQuad is an excellent tool. A lot of teachers use video but seems to be more about position than process. Thanks Shawn.
Have you done the on the course videos you mention here re course strategy and landing zones?
When using this technique I can often mess it up and get either a thin strike or a shank. Assume the shank is cos I’m too close, and the thin is my weight going on to back foot (or wrists breaking down)?
One last thing, I often seem to miss left of my target. Any ideas??
I live in Florida, I play average 2 days a week Walking 9holes, and riding 9holes. I have real feel golf mat in garage, don’t hit many balls on it due space limitations, but I’m able to do feet together as well as all the other drills. I am getting ready to start Golfweek Am Tour for my third season in a couple of weeks, I’m currently a 10.3 handicap. really liked Wisdom 1.0 will be revisiting that series a lot Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing you at Melbourne, Florida in January!
Ok, awesome;
Continue with this focus sequence that will be from my book;
1-pick an “end target” or a place you want to have the ball end up
2-pick a flight plan that fits your ability to get the ball there
3-find an intermediate point that will set you up into that picture-so that when you let the weight of the club release you to the target, you can predict that the ball position, the distance to the ball, the posture, and the grip-club face relationship will fit the flight when you let the club track itself into the direction you want to start the ball.
Predictions video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieQF5GjxzFs
4-set up done? Prediction of shot done? It is now OUT of YOUR CONTROL, just give control to gravity and let the weight of the ACU release itself in the direction you want to start the ball. Look for the feel of that low effort and nice whipping velocity that unleashes that ball into that flight with freedom and abandon!
5-DID YOU LET IT? DID you stay with the feel of that release to that direction? Or did you get distracted by “making sure” of a position or something else making noise around you?
If you stayed with it: how was the direction? how was the contact? How was the balance? How was the strain level?
If you did not stay with it, something short circuited you and you were trying to do something else; what was that you were trying? What were your concerns?
6-The most important stat in golf is how many times (there are average 36 full swings on the golf course) were you able to stay with your shot all the way to the finish? Can You CONFIRM WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT YOU felt the release of the club in the direction you wanted to start the ball?
To massage the feel of the delivery; use the Off season traing series from last year; very good series that will allow you to work even more on the at home station you have!
Merry Christmas and see you in the new year!
Shawn
Snowin in Indiana. Went out in barn with driver and Skytrak. Confused tho. If I try to keep wrist flat at the top I get 101mph and 150 ball speed for 265 carry..If I let left wrist cup I get 110mph with 160 ball speed and 284 carry? Love Wisdom In Golf! Merry Christmas Shawn!
The power of the anatomical snuff box!! Fishing-tennis serve-hammering-throwing a football…all have the same in common; more efficient power!!
Way to go Randy! Merry Christmas!
Hi Shawn, thanks for this foundational video. Is there any benefit from the body turn beyond what’s needed for a free armswing? To throw the club the farthest I feel more of an increased squat than increased body turn; but I wonder if more swing speed can come from the catapult return of an increased body turn in balance (feet together drill).
Everyone has a perception as to how much they turn vs how much they squat etc…
The key here is to be able to throw the club with POWER AND EASE towards the direction you want to start the ball.
Thanks, Shawn. Focus on “body positioning” tends to rear its ugly head occasionally. I hope to always remember that “focus on the action to target” rules! Thanks.
I think I heard you mention in another video that pitch shots should be draws. If so, why is that? My stock shot is a fade, but can draw with pretty good consistency. Wondering if I should convert those wedge shots to a draw.
I literally just signed up for the premium channel trying to figure out where to begin. I’ve just started playing golf again (haven’t played since I was 20; am 30 now) and noticed soreness in my lead hand (left; right handed clubs). I think I might have the same trouble as Ray with loosening of the grip, causing injury, and further having me skull/top my irons to prevent said soreness/injury.
With that being said, within the first 30 minutes of being a premium member, I already can appreciate these golf lesson videos because I can definitely see myself in your students’ shoes!
The best thing to do is look at the video called “predict contact”
You ate letting the club release you into the picture; it is not your job to make those positions of release happen. Shawn
