I am truly taken aback after watching part 4. Absolutely unbelievable to see how much levitation is helping the good doctor! That second driver swing when he switched to a draw, WOW talk about smoked. I felt the power behind that strike through the pc monitor!!!!
Love how everything falls into place with the kinetic chain when you wait for it! I still struggle at waiting for the levitation often, but love the result when I do. Need to keep reinforcing the levitation feel as you so eloquently put it. Amazing stuff Shawn, thank you as always!
Dude!! That just means I need to work at this drill more!! 😀👍
It is something that I have struggled with my whole life because of how aggressive my earlier years of golf were; now with the Henrik Drill and this drill, things are getting better and the feelmthrough the shot is sooo distinctive when you do it right!!
Wow, I just became a member and I’m very impressed with the quality of the videos and love the two angle view. I have a problem with not dropping the right shoulder at the begging of the down swing. I’m going to keep watching this and really get this ingrained in my memory back and take that to the range in a few weeks if the dam snow ever get melted!!
Very good you guys; great comment by kurt! You will realize as you continue that having a specific task will take care of your “body part patterns” without thinking about them; keep watching and let the little epiphanies come to you! 🙂
Hey j67451, I may be wrong, but I think focusing on anything like your right shoulder means you are not letting the arm/club unit do what it does naturally. Just REALLY FEEL the weight of the arm/club unit swinging on your intended line without manipulation.
Great back swing series thank you Shawn and Dr. John. I could see myself in Dr.John’s “almost” swings. Your video instruction has been instrumental in improving my consistency. I have been playing for a year now and trying to break 90 and reduce my handicap to around 18 from 23( my goal by the end of summer in the Southern Hemisphere) .
Awesome Brian!
Say hello to John for me!
We did one in my yoga for golf series with Chantal; forgot which episode though but we do breathing in each episode; start with episode 1!
Interesting video. I’m having trouble understanding the grip pressure that you spoke about.. If we apply that much pressure to the grip wouldn’t that inhibit the release and rotation of the club????? I just learned why my divots were always a bit deeper on the far side of the divot. I had no idea about the toe of the club being slightly up off the ground. I’ve always been trying to Have club laying level on the ground. Thanks I just singed up yesterday as Par level. After one day I’m upgrading to the Premium membership. .
Amazing when the G-Forces take hold in the swing how they release the arm club unit like snapping a whip!
It is just to prove a point though; let the flavour of the task dictate the grip pressure; lie, grass length etc…
This video locked up on my iPad Air at 3:37. Waited several minutes would not start again. This never happened on youtube. This was my first video to watch on premium. Not a good start.
I’m not sure where to leave this comment…so I’ll just drop it here. Shawn, I have watched countless videos you have made on YouTube. I love your instructions and analogies. With that being said, I decided to buy a premium membership at eagle level and thought I could not be happier…until I bought a grass whip. I am absolutely smashing the ball with a wonderful release towards the target after just 5 minutes swinging my grass whip. I know I took the long way, but here is my point, if you like Shawn’s method, and want really feel what he is talking about, I suggest you order a grass whip. I found mine on Amazon. Thank you, Shawn, for all of the great lessons, you have a member for life. Sincerely, Travis Palmer(no relation to the King)
Right on Travis! THANK YOU for taking the time to write; anywhere is great! Glad you finally took the plunge and got the whip! So many times I get on the road and see our wonderful Wisdom in Golf Students and immediately I see what they need in their swing and ask them: have you thrown some clubs or slashed some swords or whipped some grass? And so many say: well, I watched the video and it makes sense! 😝 Now, Travis gets it! You need to DO THE DRILLS!😀👍
Here is a nice reply that might help!
