Hi Shawn, I love your videos and have been a premium member for a couple
Years or more. I have watched other teaching methods I hate to say , but always come back to your teachings and will always remain loyal. Wisdom in golf has been the only instructional videos that have helped me improve my game. I do have a hard time staying on task. I think maybe once I get my direction and picture I stand over the ball to long. Which causes me to think too much and default back to the ball. HeHe!! Watching your diagonal stance videos. For the fade do you open your stance with the ball forward of center or is the stance more square and ball forward of center? It Is hard for me to see your diagonal stance for the fade. For the draw I can see your closed stance in the video with ball back of center. Oh, by the way what is the difference in the Eagle and the a premium membership?
Thank you,
Horace
Imagine doing a fade with the one leg drill; it is all about delivering the “unstoppable momentum” in the direction you want to start the ball. Again, you adjust face-grip, ball position, alignment of MOMENTUM, to the flight plan using the all mighty intermediate point as your key guide to the shot.
As for Eagle, it gets you a monthly analysis from me through the form of an audio file that I record and send back to you with next steps to get you to next level. Also a few exclusive videos of lessons on the road, off the cuff discoveries etc…
Hi Shawn. Do you have a video that covers shanks? I’ve been shanking for quite some time now not only with my chips but also pitches and full shots. I could really use some help. I’m a new premium member. I’d be up for paying for a remote lesson for sure.
Immediately go to the “football drill series” videos on premium; then to “the goldie locks series” and focus on the distance to ball portion and let me know how you do!

Would you recommend Club Champion or a local Wisdom In Golf Expert at a club that can only sell one brand. I think I just got my answer by asking the question.
Really hard to beat Club Champion; you just want to stay with your simple tasks and stay with the effortless, heavy, unstoppable momentum in a very specific direction on every swing and you will get a very consistent fitting. Stay away from body part thinking during your fittings!
Hey Shawn, after analyzing my swing, this was one of the videos you made sure I watch/learn. In practice on the range and during a round on the course, after trying to work on this, I tend to hit my irons extremely right off the club face (I’m right-handed)? Clearly I’m doing something wrong. I’ll keep up the practice but thought you may be able to pin-point it for me? Thanks as always.
Where on he club face are you hitting it? Toe? Hosel?
If center, please see the first video on the “consistency series” and if hosel, see “football drill series” videos;

How crazy is this? I just got home from my morning workout where I wanted to confirm that what I am doing with the two T drill is transferring. Here is his I did it. I placed a flat ball where I would place the golf ball and another in front where I expect the club to start cutting grass. I used perpetual motion next to the ball to confirm the point at which I cut grass is where the second flat ball is located. Immediately afterwards I placed a Birdie ball on the turf, used perpetual motion next to the ball and after two swings where I cut grass in front of the ball, I moved in an boom executed the shot. I come home and see that what I developed instinctively is the video of the week. Thank for the confirmation.

Hi Shawn. Really having much better consistency visualizing the 2 tee drill before my shots. Hitting farther and straighter long irons than ever. Thinking more down and through the ball throwing club to edge of IP to target has enabled me to really start compressing the ball like never before. Coupled with really clamping down on the club with heavy grip pressure has enabled me to not leak and transfer so much more energy through the ball. Not that I have a way to measure for myself and by no means will I think about numbers while trying to swing but just curious what you have found to be the optimal downward Angle of Attack for best carry? Is there a number range that you would like to see on your shots? Any studies done using super slow-mo cameras and principles of physics that point to what might be the optimal?
Will need to do a video on youtube about that! Thank you for the inspiration!
The short answer is what is optimal for the shot at hand? Wind-Lie-flight plan-height of shot downwind or upwind etc!
The only thing good about covid 19 is that I have played golf 18 of 22 days in April! I have been playing well , but, I have noticed some inconsistency with my driver. I watched ” sequence your swing” videos on YouTube where you talk about starting the downswing before you finish the backswing and that seemed to have helped. Do you still advocate this?
Yea, this is what naturally happens when you throw the club or take a full swing with the axe; when you heave the axe into the backswing with the goal of delivering the blow through the tree, the lower body gets engaged as the arms and axe levitate into the backswing to initiate the kinetic chain. We just need to use the right task to get this done without thinking! 👍😀
Hi Shawn…..this might be off topic but quick question. I noticed all three of you seem to get your hands high at the top of your backswing almost above your head. Mine tend to stay about shoulder height and maybe that is ok. Is there a video you can point me to that explains the high hands? Kent
Not about the height of the hands; don’t look there; it is about the free swing of arms cutting grass in both directions without CONTROL. See “task trumps everything” and the “3 top tasks” and if you can accomplish those, then the height of the hands are good enough to evolve naturally moving forward! 😀👍
Hi Shawn, my swing tracks well, arms levitate, and i can feel the weight when doing the perpetual motion drill, However, when i start my backswing at address, even if i try to feel i’m in motion, it’s not the same as doing the perpetual motion drill. I feel like i dont get enough levitation in the arms, i might not clear enough and i use more my arms to take the club back, or by trying to clear i might take the club too inside. Do you have any tips on what i can do for my backswing to feel free and easy like the perpetual motion drill?
It’s ok to have a little variance between the regular golf swing and the axe drill; the bottom line is that you want to feel that nice upward levitation in that backswing with that same gorgeous transition. Also, the 2 tee drill can easily be done with the axe drill and it a heck of a great idea!
This is a job for the axe drill!! How much have you practiced it?
See the latest with Savy, she does it so well! ‘How to use the weight in your swing-axe drill with Savy” video
The axe drill
has helped a lot with keeping me centered. It’s still a lot easier to keep it on plane when carrying it two handed and tossing it back. When i’m over the ball i seem to take the club inside while trying to do the axe drill. Can you also explain how i would use the axe drill for the two tees drill?
In this video with Munashe yes, they are; imagine 2 tees 4 inches apart on the ground starting where the ball is and going towards the target. The task is to use the sole of the club to collect both of them and deliver them through the Left edge of the intermediate point and into the net with a nice effortless whipping action.
See the “top 3 tasks” video and watch the delivering of the wood curls into the target.
HEY EVERYONE! Here are 2 videos from the sport science-human motor skill learning-world that validates in a huge way what we do and why we teach the way we do:
This one here validates the work of Gabriele Wulf:
And this one here is from Rich Masters, Professor at the University of Hong Kong; see from minute 30 forward till the end!
Hey Mike! See the “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning” videos on premium; you will soon discover what will work for you as an individual and how to tune in how much to close and how strong the grip or a combo of both!
Also, woods and irons are designed differently; some you need to close more and some less depending on their design and how much ‘DRAW BIAS’ they have built into them.
Shawn sent an email a few minutes ago regarding a strong grip and closing the face of the club.
My question was with a strong grip do I close the face of the club? doesn’t a strong grip close the face as well?
Do the same rules apply to the driver.
Mike
resent my questions because I did not request you notify me when answered.
thanks again
I answered the other one; did you get it? See “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning” the amount of closure is different for everyone. The vast majority of golfers do not close their club faces enough though.
Next week’s video will be just that! We had another astounding session today with both Mu and Savy; Savy is. Ow carrying the super 7 iron at 175 to 180 yards…and Mu? 195 yards, stock 7 iron with stock lofts. The trick with the tip of tee is to flick the tip of the tee towards the direction you want to start the ball at the height you want to flick it; causing a top spin effect with the tee and a smoking compression with the ball on the face as a consequence to that!
Hey Molly! Yes! Very important videos to watch are the “lead hand release” and “trail hand release” and “release fine tuning”
That lead hand is the priority! It must yield to the trail hand for full snap which will really turbo charge the swing!
