Means you did not fully clear your prediction based on your action feel to target; match that with “pre motor cortex series” videos and fins your best way to deliver free of strain!
Hi Shawn, we need more of this diagonal series stuff!! It is excellent. you are explaining how you are doing it and we can see the ball flight which really puts it all together.
Use the same tools and setup that you did for this series. Now that would be cool.
Would love for you to do this on the golf course. Let’s call it situational golf. So for example you would play golf and show the different shots and also show the ball flights towards a real hole. Do a par 3, maybe a par 4 and a par 5 dog leg. That way you can use multiple shots on different holes. And we can see the ball flight.
Hi Shawn, When I feel pressure on the golf course, for whatever reason, I seem to end up not really having much lower body activity but just hitting on the down swing with the upper body. What videos do you recommend to help with this. I am learning so much with these videos but finding it hard to put it all together and keep it all together on the golf course.
How are you aligning the clubface with your draw or fade? I see your shoulder is pointing to the right on the draw but why does your clubface look so open at address? I notice this more with the 7 iron.
With the fade it looks more closed at address. Maybe it is an illusion but I can’t see how that would work.
Very important for you to see “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning” videos;
You need to adjust the angle based on the flight you see after you have confirmed that you got a full release in the direction you want to start the ball! See “target confirmation series” as well!
Shawn
Yes, you will see some really good questions and answers in the comment sections! No garbage here, all gold nuggets from like minded and incredibly passionate golfers! 😀👍
Awesome, glad you are having a blast! See “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning”
To me it sounds like club face or initial alignment or a bit of both;
Shawn
Love you approach and knowledge. One thing that struck me. I am a barrel chested 6 foot 2 guy, making room for my elbow through the ball has always been a challenge as it is a constant fight for me to keep my elbow away from my body in the back swing particularly when I am using the longer clubs. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated
Hi Michael! Sorry I missed this one!
You need to see the “football drill series” and the “throwing series”
This will get you a terrific start and we can go from there after!
Shawn
I completely understand the concept and my practice swings feel great with good speed. When I get over the ball, my brain malfunctions, I default to the ball, and my upper body (arms) takes over. I’m unable to let my arms fall. I’m losing all the speed and follow-through extension I get in my practice swings. I also feel like I’m swaying more that squatting, which I’m guessing is opening up my hips too early. Are there specific drills or swing thoughts you can point me towards?
Update on grip pressure: now I’m about a 6-7 out of 10 and trail hand pad pressuring my lead thumb on club. Showing about 3 knuckles on lead hand. Laying the club on my lead hand on my last life line , then having thumb slightly to more on the right side of the club. V pointing to right shoulder and right ear. To my amaze my driver has pick up swing speed and ball speed. Maybe not being too loose on trail hand of a 1 grip pressure is keeping me more connected and not being too loosely of swing.
Only problem I’m having is making sure I do the secondary tilt and keeping upper body not so tight . I tend to make my body tension the same as grip tension.
It’s all about having the “TONE” to accomplish the task. What would the body tilt look like when driving a nail through a door frame and what would grip pressure be? See “hammer drill” video on premium.
Another gem Shawn. I was always trying to control the dominant right arm. The right side always wanted to get into the action and over the top pull or slice. Now the football drill is purposeful through this video. The turbocharged right trail hand release also helps with my tempo, chipping, driver….thanks.
Trying to understand the 2 tees. Are they standing upright or laying down? Also since good players and ball strikers are reducing the loft by as much as 20% how do you get that much deloft, getting hands ahead of the club face, moving the body out of the way or something else?
They can be lying down or pegged;
This channel is a haven for delofting the club as golf Is the ultimate “collect the ball from where it lies and release it into the picture you want it to fly into.
See “throw the club” for the action that creates the tour caliber lag and then see the first video in the “consistency series” to understand what lag does to the club face and to ready for this inevitable and predictable event! Then see “predict contact” and “the goldie locks series” to polish.
I found the Impact Snap trainer interesting and purchased it online, apologies could not find your Pro Shop page. You mentioned making a video on how to train with it, is it available now?
Fantastic! What I love – other than the running commentary from Sav and Mu – is the simplicity of your tuition! We can see it, hear it and just squeeze it – boom!
Yes I am biased but why not be when you are hitting balls on the range and the guy that used to coach you(years ago) stops and asks who is your new coach! So much fun telling him – “Still Shawn” !!!
