hey Shawn just got a swing caddie.i heard u mention getting larger grip for Mu.did u ever get one?
Hey Mark! Good question! I have not seen Mu’s from his bag in a long while so I forget! 😝
But I would say that it would be a great idea to match up to the grip size and material you are using on your set for sure!
Ok, good feedback! See “feet together back to feet apart” and try the swing caddy again!
California event was cancelled 3 weeks prior to the date; we are still scratching our heads; I was fully booked so I went down to do my clinics like the old days before Covid; had a blast with both my students and the great folks at Cobra!
shawn let me rephrase my ? if my hands reach the ball before club and release then my timing should spot on
Timing is in the kinetic chain engagement; squat into the ground, then the unwinding of the body from the ground up, then the hands come through, then the club, yes. You want to feel that this happens very easily as you deliver your task into the direction you want to start the ball with momentum and ease.
shawn is max club speed just past the ball or at the ball. if it is past ball then is it slower where club strikes ball.
thx
mark
The science guys with their accelerometers will tell you is during ball transfer; yes, the ball slows down the club, especially ball grass ground with irons, then 99% of golfers including many prominent teachers who have a stage will then vomit this and say send everything at the ball and make the ball the target. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF CHAOS. Like telling a sprinter to run up to the finish line. Without the ball, the point where the club passes the hands when throwing at the target is peak speed; that is where you feel the snap of the baseball bat, the pronation of the arm in tennis, etc…that is way past the ball by a couple feet, SO YOUR MIND NEEDS TO BE on that side like in the “target confirmation series” or the “stick your finish despite the ball series”
Very new to this kind of teaching and focus but very interesting and so different than « positions » teaching. Can’t wait to see if 1) I’m able to execute 2) the effect on my club speed. The trowing of clubs will have to be replace with something else however (January in Québec…) 🤷♂️😊
A Netted area works very well Luc! 👍😀
Club head speed is difficult for me. I feel like when I throw the club through the dandelion stem to fast I am all over the place. If I throw t slow and easy I generally hit good shots. However I know I am leaving distance on the table. How can I gradually increase the speed and then be able to gauge distance?
Hi Greg! See “task update” and “the kinetic chain facilitation series” and I will have a fantastic update on this within the month on premium, so stay tuned!
