Loved the video. My question is regarding the placement of the hands at setup. It looks like in the video your left arm is angled straight to the ball and the right arm completes the small “y”. The hands seem to be just inside the lead leg
Hi Gregg! See the “hammer drill” video and set up against a door frame to perform the same task and see what that looks like from your perspective. Stay away from body parts positions as our perceptions are different and things get lost in translation ALL THE TIME. But, when it comes to a task, things get sharp fast!😀👍
Super info! When setting up into the braced tilt and we no longer want to pre-turn I am having trouble as I brace and tilt I still seem to still get closed as in the pre-turn. Do I need to brace more left a bit? I have a little bit of trouble rotating through the swing.
Hi Robert! It is time to tilt with purpose! 😀
see “tilt mile markers” and see the “goldie locks series” and use the goldie locks principle to determine the low point of the swing. Also, see the latest “unstoppable momentum” video using the divot to determine low point when tilting.
I have noticed on some of my poor iron strikes the divot is too far inside the ball despite my posture feeling balanced at set up. A weak toe strike is the result. Could this mean I am placing too much weight on my lead leg during the downswing?
The videos you want to watch to get a proper reference are “blur of club” and then all the videos with “arc-blur” and “unstoppable momentum” as well as the “football drill” series.
Great lesson Shawn ! I have recently begun setting up like this and have had really great results. One issue, I have a tendency to sort of lean my head toward the target line, I think I’m trying to see the ball the entire backswing but with this added turn (which is great), I’ve created this head tilt. Any ideas on how to clean this up ?
Hi Allen! Yes! Please see “mile markers for Balance” video.😀👍
Same with the driver?
Yes, we are always getting ready to deliver through the ball and into the flight plan; check out Hideki Matsuyama’s set up with the driver and you will see it very clearly!😀👍
