Hi Shawn, Great videos so far. I’m a new member, but a longtime golfer. One thing that I could never quite get that other instructors were trying to teach is the cupping of the wrists. This has baffled me for a good 30 years. Your video on the grip was an aha moment for me. Do you recommend rotating my grips on the clubs to reflect my new strong grip position on the club? I previously used a neutral grip and the ball is now exploding off the club with a really new sound. Really cool sound! Different ball shape and trajectory too. I have had a low boring shot for many years and no matter what I did, couldn’t correct for it. The first shot I hit with the new grip sent the ball soaring like a homesick angel into the sky. I almost missed it because I was looking too low.

How cool is that Paul! The grips are round and that is the cool part; everyone is different and you should be able to open or close the face at will depending on weather you are hitting a low draw vs a flop shot or bunker shot with a very open face. You are on the right track! Please continue to keep us posted!

Hey Paul! How cool is that! The term we use is HINGING the wrist or cocking the wrists on the anatomical snuff boxes. Like cocking a hammer, a fishing pole etc…the grip is definitely the key to be able to do this without anything coming out of your grasp or the grip shifting in your hands. When you are able to sling through the ball, collect it from where it lies and release it into the flight plan, MAGIC!! So happy for you; keep me posted to future developments! 👍👊🫶

I’m feeling like I want to send you a vid pretty soon. A few more sessions and I should be ready for some feedback. Thanks again for the great videos on this common sense approach!

Funny part is that I originally skipped your grip vid, but I noticed your hand position was a bit forward on the “Wrist hinge & arm rotation” vid. So I was curious and went back to look at the grip vid. Boy am I glad I did!! That had some pure gold in it!! I’ve been going to the local range with 5, 7, & 9 irons. Yesterday I took the 5 wood with me and hit that pretty good most of the time too. I need a little time to develop some consistency though. Occasionally I hit a fat shot, but it’s coming along. I tend to hit it fat when my mind wanders off task and I start thinking about the mechanics rather than the task. It’s amazing how easy it is to screw things up by thinking. LOL!

I was originally pulling my irons with a draw, so I went a little more upright on the back swing. That seems to have corrected the pull. I’m anxious to see what you have to say. All good stuff so far. I’m going to work thru the Senior series since that applies to me now.

Shawn Clement

Please continue to go upright! The latest 2 pendulum series, the “backswing levitation” and “garage door drill” videos are awesome for that; same for the “lead hand release” and “lead hand release backswing assurances”

Thanks Shawn! I’ll review those for some help.
