When I think of unstoppable momentum I think of as you showed with the six pound hammer swing something that doesn’t have any added momentum, but when I watch videos of you and your daughter swinging it appears that you are adding swing momentum above the original momentum of the club swinging it’s self with the arm club unit. Is this accomplished through the counter activity of butt turning behind you as you swing through the ball to an unrestricted finish
Correct! When the body has to prepare to get out of the way of the arms falling around the sternal notch and out towards the target, it KICKS THE KINETIC CHAIN INTO ACTION; and this catapults the butt away from the target and releases the arms into the picture. See the sublime “kinetic chain series” of 7 videos; very sweet!!
WOW! That is great news. The golf channel needs your
type of teaching. You deserve everything good coming your way❤️
Thank you Linda! 👍😀❤️
Shawn & Sav:
Great video lesson. So I have been told by you in your lesson in Tampa that I should use the ‘carpenter / hammer” swing. When hitting a nail normally thinks that the hammer hits the nail and then stops. Any positioning swing thoughts to incorporate the hammer swing with unstoppable momentum ? Also congrats on your joining the ‘Golf Channel”! Well deserved. I am thinking you may now be making more trips to Florida. If so, How do I found out if you will be available for more lessons when in Florida? Thanks!
The hammer does get stopped yes, but the nail gets driven into the wood; and when the nail is too long, ot comes out on the other side! This is the Idea!! You want to drive that ball well through the wood and out into the Picture with a nice hefty whip with ease! Shawn
Mickey Wright explained her long hitting by the way she used to practice: every day she would hit shots with no follow through. How does that fit with unstoppable momentum?
Would love to see where this is written….
I got it from Mike Bender who reccomends hitting balls with no follow through as a dril, Don’t get me wrong – I am one of your disciples.l
Ok, good! What is the context and what is the purpose of the drill?
I guess training a good impact position and perhaps helping to transfer energy into the release as the hips stop turning, and perhaps physically training the legs to cope with the stress as the club goes forward at high speed as the body stays back.
Would a momentum swing have a pause? Do you do that for driver to pitching? Were most of those swings draws?
Never try to make things pause; the pause comes from you not dighting the momentum of the swing. See “anti-manipulation” video on premium.
