Hi Shawn,
Can you suggest some Tasks for putting?
Best, Jeremy
That is a perfect task on it’s own! BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE PUTTING VIDEOS ON PREMIUM to be able to just let the weight of the arm-putter unit roll the ball into the picture.
Hi Shawn Are there any specific videos dealing with topping? I have gone from hero to zero and can’t readily get ball airborne from the tee-despite trying to concentrate on hitting the tip of the tee. Regards. Ian
Hi Ian! The grass whip training video is the best for that; so if you play the ball on a lower tee with the driver and focus on having the sole of the club follow along the ground in a nice whipping deflection like in the fairway woods, you will have some nice contacts. Just feel that the tee height is just high enough to get the ball to meet the centre of the face if you have the sole follow the ground. Then do like in the grass whip training video!😀👍
Many thanks for your help Shawn-really appreciated!
I watched all of 1.0 beginners DVD. In that series, you stress not focusing on the ball, but rather, focusing on throwing the club to the target. I know focusing on the target usually helps me hit my best shots. These tasks seem both ball or impact focused and target focused because you are cutting the dandelion towards where you want the ball to go, or, peeling the carrot towards the target, etc. Is that a correct way to consider it?
Ahhh – never mind. You answered in the Part 2. I need to be more patient! Thank you.
Yes, you bet! Connect the task to your flight plan!
Hi Shawn, when looking at the grass between the leading edge (and using cutting the dandelion stem as my task) and the ball my tendency has been to hit the ball fat. Thoughts?
Haha! Your timing is perfect for this question as I will be making a nice addendum to the task assets of Wisdom in Golf in next week’s video. Here is a sneak peak: Use the weight of the arms and club to whip the stem of the dandelion out towards the direction you want to start the ball! See “blur of club” and “arc-blur” videos as well as “using the weight in your swing-Axe drill with Savy”
Hi Shawn, i try and pratice too have my eyes on the grass between the club and the ball but when the club leave in the takeaway i lose sight(or focus) of that piece of grass. Did you have another place where i can put my eyes. Maybe i should focus more on the “stem” that is under the dandelion? Thanks a lot
That is ok Patrick; your eyes are on that area so that your attention can be on the task of using the leading edge of the club to cut through the stem with the weight of the arm-club unit. So when you are in the act of swinging, you can no longer stay and be aware of that piece of grass and you are just letting it ride; see “pre motor cortex series” and “target confirmation series” to deepen your understanding!
Alright, thanks! 👍
