I’ve watched many of your youtube videos and you sugest clsoing the clubface at address then putting your hands on the club to create a strong grip. But ifi do that then the left thumb is no longer down the center of the grip?
Thanks
ken
Hey Ken! Left thumb comes from 1:30 and the tip of the thumb at 12:30; the tip of the thumb feels like it supports the club nicely at the top of the backswing.
Shawn, Should my palms be square to each other? Sometime it feels my trail hand is more “on top”. thanks
Generally yes, see how the anatomical snuff boxes need to be close enough to hinge together and make it feel like both hands form one “arm-club unit”?
Great video. I use the interlock grip and I never realized that I was interlocking to deep causing the club to move out of my fingers
Lots of wisdom in that one! 😀👍
Question about the right hand. I have a damaged right pinky. Typically, I have used an overlap grip. However, after watching this is there any reason why I can’t use a ten finger grip versus overlapping?
Ten finger is every bit as solid a grip as any other out there!!😀👍
Right handed golfer here. Is it right that my left thumb is poking through the space between my right thumb and index finger? I’m using an overlap grip and not sure what I am doing wrong with my trail hand grip.
Hi Daniel! The Great Jack Nicklaus had a grip like that; what matters is that you get to be able to release the club nicely (see “release fine tuning” and “snap release polish” videos) without anything moving in your hands from start to finish and you feel a nice squeeze through the ball.
