I tend to suffer from a collapsed trail arm in my backswing unless focuse on particular aspect. When I saw collapsed, I’m referring to the less than 90 degree bend you’ve mentioned in this series. Heaving or throwing backwards, as opposed to up and behind, in order to throw the club forward seems to remedy that. Does this seem valid?

Shawn Clement

Meaning that you are taking the club back wide in a direction that matches the direction you want to start the ball? Yes, confirm with “football drill series” for elbow and “match backswing to ball direction” for width.

Shawn, Great Video! Your best all time drill is the Elephant walk! I have actually incorporated it into my waggle. I do a slight forward press while planting the L heel, and then I plant the R heel to start my backswing (Elephant Walk). That gets me, I think, perfectly into your dynamic set up as I start the backswing with the fluid motion of doing the Elephant walk in my real swing. For me, the Elephant walk is at the heart of you Kinetic Chain series. Thanks for the good stuff !!!!

Shawn, I sent in a video several weeks ago for you to review. In your critique you mentioned no hip turn and my knee points straight out. I’ve tried very hard to make my knee go inward on the back swing. To do this I have to force my knee inward. It won’t go in naturally. Can you give me help on this so I can get hip rotation? Thanks

Shawn Clement

You bet Randy!
start with the “feet together drill” and then to “feet together back to feet apart”
this will get the swivel of the hips more engaged and you will continue to allow the left knee to rotate inward. Do see “weight shift with Savy” again as the confirmation of how the weight shifts from backswing to forward swing is huge for finishing the backswing properly! Then see and practice till he cows come home the “walking drill” and the “kinetic chain facilitation #6” of me walking and sending divots into the trees!

Thank you sir!

Major breakthrough from this video! You mentioned in a video analysis that i need to leverage the ground more. Been working hard on it and this video hit home. I feel the quads and glutes engaged at setup and then find them again once backswing is finished and clubs starts falling. Years of struggling to find center of club face and now i am peppering the middle (cleanest part of my clubs btw). Thanks!

Awe man! Nothing beat that feel! Such a great way to move through something! Awesome work!

Hi Shawn
Still having trouble of getting the transition down and getting the feeling of grabbing the ground for my power. Tend to lead with the rotation of the upper body as soon as I try to stick with the bamboo shoot task when attempting to strike a ball. Any other suggestions for videos on getting the the lower body correct in transition ?

Thanks

Shawn Clement

Sorry I missed this comment Peedeee!
Yes, see “feet together back to feet apart” and “pumping up the volume”
