Does it mean that one would be slightly less open too, when hitting a fade with the driver (than with a 9 iron)?
You get the idea and it could be less for many people; you will see a few guys on tour doing fades that way like Matt Kuchar and Graeme McDowell; Shawn
By coincidence I was experimenting with my driver stance yesterday. I normally hit a draw with a square stance; so I was pointing more left with my feet and taking the club back a little outside. Had phenomenal shots one after the other, mostly quite straight but a few small fades and even a few small draws. So this is now my plan for finding fairways on narrow holes. Just not getting the carry distance I want yet but I have a lot of work left to implement your system. We’ll get there.

I have always wondered how lining up square with driver while hitting up on the ball (so on the closing part of the arc) could fit the picture when hitting draw. It always bothered me, but I thought I should trust your decades of knowledge. I have my answer now, it doesn’t fit 🙂
My driver isn’t progressing as fast as all the other clubs, that might well be the missing piece. I’m either hitting left or not hitting up enough, that alignment correction should allow me to put the ball a little more forward in the stance.

Tried that with my hybrids. Slightly diagonal stance, just enough to feel right. BINGO. It feel way more natural. I can now really close the face and freely release right. H4 flushed 180 plus meters! That’s my 170 club!
