Good stuff! Keep seeing the way you want the ball to roll in; practice seeing the ball roll in at the speed it needs to for the putt at hand. You will gradually make more!

Get a grip that has a counter weight in it; the “Forward grip” I recommend now has a counter balance version that comes with it; I am testing it right now and it is quite good!
Superstroke makes one too; get something in the 40 gram range; it makes a nice difference in the way the stroke comes through-feels more true. Shawn

Hey Shawn. Focussed on the follow through rehinge on the range before playing this morning. Just as an add on, once i had completed what usually would have been the full swing, instead of stopping i swung back through my intermediate point to a full backswing. Just like the “out of the way out of the way” perpetual motion I found that my practice shots felt more solid and accurate where the rehinge allowed me to then go straight into a backswing. I also felt no manipulation since the brain was refocusing on grooving the swing over the intermediate point, both towards the target as part of the shot and then after the rehinge. I guess this is similar to the walking routine concept but specifically concentrating on the rehinge and what I’m calling recoil. Just thought I’d pass this on as it helped me to establish what was a good rehinge against a poor one. I realise this probably won’t work with helicopter finishes though. Regards Steve
Hi Shawn – played a 9-hole event tonight. My friend noticed my feet “wiggle” throughout my back swing. I’ve noticed this too for awhile now. I try not to focus on this, and stay focused to my target. Should I hit more balls beneath my feet for practice? I feel more bolted to the ground when I do not lift my fit during the swing.
It means the feet feel out of place when you are ready to go; they feel the need to move to accommodate the focus you have. So the question is: what is your task and what is your focus just before you swing?
Hi Shawn, just signed up yesterday and loving the videos. Chipping is my worst shot so can’t wait to try this method. What club is best? I tend to use a 52. Do you recommend using one club or using different lofts depending on distance? ( I’m hoping you will say one club ).
Hi Gerry! This is a very complete chipping video and your surroundings at your local course where you play will dictate your clubs for chipping; I use my lob wedge for 75% of chips at my club; and the other 25% is shared by the sand wedge and gap wedge depending on how far the roll is on the green.
My Ping TS wedge has 6 degrees bounce; you don’t want any more than 8 and much better to have the dual sole grind like the M grind of Vokey or C grind of Callaway.
Thanks, Shawn. I am looking at those wedges as my next purchase. However, I looked at my current 60 degree wedge. It is a Taylormade with 10 degree bounce. Until I get a new one, is there any adjustment, or things I need to watch out for with my current wedge?

When talking about the Dandelion stem, where are we picturing it? Is the ball itself the stem? (so we cut through half way down the ball?) Is the entire ball the top or “flower” of the Dandelion, so the stem is completely underneath the ball? (ball sitting on stem)? Do we see the entire ball as both the stem and the flower together? So maybe 3/4 of the way down the ball is where the stem starts? This one has always gotten me….I love the analogy, just trying to make sure I know what I’m doing.

Shawn, I too have had trouble visualizing the dandelion stem. I had been thinking cutting the stem at bottom of ball. That led to some fat shots. Last session I thought about the middle of ball being the stem like you mentioned but had to find a place to park the eyes so I started using the last dimple at the very backside of the ball I could see. It seemed to really help me get flush contact. Using this as a visual, then focusing instead on cutting through the stem at the middle of ball would be like thinking cutting the ball in half like the bamboo shoot with an effortless whip. Does that logic check?
That will work Dave! The key is the focus on the action and not the spot you are looking at; just like you said; you park the eyes on the back of the ball but you focus on the task and the feel and sound of it. Way to go!
Shawn – Thank you. I have recently returned to golf after really giving up for the last 10 years. I’m so glad that one of the first things I have done upon my ‘return’ is to have found your teachings. It makes such a huge difference actually understanding what the heck is going on! I’m really left wondering what on earth all these ‘traditional’ teachers are doing, and am a bit mad at myself for listening to all that nonsense before, to the extent that I felt like I would never be able to succeed at even getting a moderate amount of consistency in my game. It’s just such a wonderful feeling to enjoy striking the ball through the ‘wisdom’, and I can’t wait to do that every opportunity I have now. You have restored my faith in myself and my love of the game. I can’t get enough of the video content, and I definitely want to find a way of coming up to Canada to learn from you in person. I am 80yo and have played golf for many years [sporadically these days.] However, I have a torn and detached rotator-cuff which limits my backswing. [Surgery is not possible according to two Orthopedic surgeons.] I have modified my swing to counteract this physical limitation. I enjoy your videos very much but I am not capable of replicating the full swing you recommend so distance is a major problem. Now I am in pretty good health and I recognize body changes that are natural. I would appreciate any suggestions helping me improve both swing and distance.
Well, that depends on what your perception is; however, if there is a collapse of the width of the backswing, that would definitely be a short circuit.
I am a little confused about the fade and draw. In both, the club head is a little closed, but the position of the ball in the stance is different. Fade – forward, draw behind? Correct?
The part about the ball positions is perfect; in the fade, you would have the club face a tad LESS CLOSED than the draw at address, where the goal would be to have a slightly open face at the point of separation when the ball leaps off the club face.
Alignment fade is left of end target
Alignment draw is on end target.
Do you have a favorite throw or progression that gets the trail arm stretched out towards the target on the through swing? I don’t even know what this position indicates but a lot of good players have it!

Good question Sam! All the different throws you will see in this series have the trail arm releasing and being pulled into the direction you want to start the ball; just a fabulous task that promotes freedom and abandon!

The pace of your arm swing in the shots you play appears to match the speed of the body motion. To what extent does that pace of the arm swing change as the shots and clubs are longer?

Hi Shawn. Just an add on to my question, if I may please. Do you have any videos which demonstrate the additional/incremental clubhead speed (with eg Trackman figures) which comes from using different cycles of momentum?
If not, could you perhaps do one sometime as it would clearly demonstrate the correlation between the two elements

Hi Shawn, this is just what I need, very helpful. Played today and my chipping was much improved. For the lob shot is it still the case that you let momentum release your hands? It looks slightly different. Also is there a video that explains all about intermediate points?
It took me a while to incorporate the “hammer throw” feeling into my swing, but it really clicked today at the range and I was smokin’ the ball with all clubs. Really an awesome drill and it simplifies everything. Hope I can take this to the golf course next week. Thanks Shawn.
