Hi Shawn, three months ago, I started to learn golf with an instructor from my local driving range. I hit the wall well, but I didn’t feel comfortable doing it. My instructor doesn’t let me move my body at all, only my arms. Now that I see your videos, I’m trying to change my swing to your style because it feels good and natural. I practice these drills, but I fail to hit the ball well when doing this swing in the driving range. What could be the problem?

Shawn Clement

Hi Emilio; not a concern at all; you just need some solid references to get your bearings. See “blur of club” and “grass whip training” as a great task training. Then see “the goldie locks series” and the “throwing the club” and “throwing series” and predict that contact! 😀👍

Hi Shawn. I recently saw a video of this drill where you start with the ball farthest away from you and walk backwards as you hit the balls. I thought it was an interesting variation on your elephant walk.

This a great exercise! I watched the Anti-manipulation post as well, very good.

The last comment in the clip about not using the arms to apply more pressure, I have been practicing that a lot as it feels counterintuitive. I am playing 18 holes tomorrow, lets see if I can put it into practice 👍

Hi Shawn,

So it’s all ground force for speed and power then?

Thanks,

Matt
