Heave”, “hinge” and “levitate”.” Left pec starts the mini heave. You heave it into a hinge and the hinge levitates it up. Feel the perpetual motion drill. Be patient in the back swing, esp. for the driver because it takes what seems like a long time for the levitation to take place. Be patient for it. The weight of the club sets you (your wrists at the top). Shawn, unlike Jeremey you bend your right arm to 90, when does this happen with the min-heave? These videos helped answer my 3 questions to you on the Fine Tuning video.

Wandering around Premium and stumbled upon these great vids. “Heave”, “hinge” and “levitate”. Fantastic. Wisdom in Golf speaks my language. Awesome stuff Shawn, and Jeremy and I even have the same Adidas golf shoes although I’m not a fan of them and now have some wide FJs.

Hey Sean,

Keith from Bend Or here…. I recall from a previous session that you discuss ‘reverse’ lag in the back swing. I recently found this sensation and it has helped so much with syncing. My guess is lagging the clubhead in the take-away sets my wrists/ hands a little sooner as opposed to wrists cocking last in the BS.
Thoughts ?

Hello Shawn, I play off of 11 and today I filmed my swing and see that my club is way across the line at the top of the swing and my left arm is bent it really doesn’t look pretty!
The upside is that i’ve been regularly practicing your drills such as feet together, throwing the clubs and swinging the Kettlebell and as a result i’m actually hitting the ball so much better and i’m Task focused. I’m able to fade the ball which I’ve never been able to do and also draw the ball. Also I’m hitting it longer and i would say in a more consistent and in a controlled manner. However, I’m struggling to improve the positions at the top without it interfering with the task, what would you suggest?
I’m really looking forward to playing at the weekend to test the new techniques but i’m doubting myself after watching the filmed swing. Should I just ignore the across the line and bending left arm or how can I get both? Happy to send some swings over this weekend. Thanks Mike (from Kent, England)

Hi Shawn
I have a slow back swing (this gives me too much time to think) would this effect the momentum of the gravity wrist hinge or not, the lighter my grip(about a 1 or 2) the more wrist hinge I get but the swing does not feel very constructed, and when I tighten the grip I can’t feel the hinge at all

Hi shawn

Any ideas what makes me stand up at the top of the back swing, trying to keep down just makes me loose focus on the task

Thanks

See the 2 ball drill Or the “early extension shawn clement” video; or the “golf is as easy as peeling carrots shawn clement”

Hi shawn

I had someone tell me that my down swing starts with my shoulders and looks to steep and my follow through goes to far to the left, is this just down to the wrong focus or am I missing something, he was talking about laying the club off more

Thanks

phillipbritton@btinternet.com

Thanks Shawn, I know you don’t believe in certain positions and the backswing must match the shot, am I right in thinking laying the club off is something else we should not think about

Admin

I know how hard it is for an engineer to not think about these things; did you see the “how to stay with your shot” or how to match the backswing to your shot” videos? Take your time to digest; this is like the movie “the Matrix” in here…😀😝
