Awesome!
Hey Shawn,
Been watching your videos for a while now and trying to apply your concepts. Recently just got a Rapsodo to see what kind of errors I’m making, and while I’m sure there are many things someone with as much experience as you can see, there are some quite prominent errors that are even palpable to me when I review the swing. One of them being an overextension in my backswing which I think relates to this video.
I will attach a photo, but I can clearly see that in my backswing when I’m reviewing it, it looks like I am trying to extend upwards. I do not think this is efficient because I believe I am wasting energy and momentum in two different ways: by manipulating to overextend and having to correct said overextension by “pushing the club” back on plane. I’m not sure if all this makes sense, but if it does and you can direct me to a video so that I can conceptualize a solution to correct this, I would greatly appreciate it!
Yes, using the weight in your swing axe drill with Savy is a good one; then see “arc blur unstoppable momentum series” when you overextend like this, you DEFINITELY cannot use momentum. Either you are not hinging early enough in the backswing, see all the “release” videos and use the “perpetual motion drill” and the “walking drill” to smooth out the edges!
Much appreciated Shawn! Will get to watching and practicing!
At the top of the backswing (right handed golfer), left thumb and knuckle at the base of forefinger helping to secure the grip. Is there a sensation of the trail hand holding a tray?
Hey Jack! Sorry I missed this one! You would be holding the tray with your knuckles; Shawn
Hello Shawn, I’ve tried to find the link of the training aids that you’re talking about in many of your videos (grass cutting tool, magnetic snap), in the member home zone, but didn’t find it. Can you help? Thanks
This is in the proshop page of http://www.wisdomingolf.com
Enjoy!
Hi Shawn , on my back swing I can gather the club with my irons excellently, however really struggle with driver and fairway wood .
I can’t feel the club head at all and always feel that I rush the down swing
Hi Grahm! Go see “the throwing series” and see the one with the driver; it will help a lot!
