Hi Shawn. For a person with small hands, would oversize grips be an advantage or a disadvantage?
You always want to perform the acid test for any grip and grip size;
Lead hand on the club only and squeeze-see “stop destroying your golf glove shawn clement” on you tube
See which size allows for the most secure feel; now if you have a hand injury or arthritis, that is another story!

I’m almost 80 and just realized why my handicap went from 7 to 17 in last four years looking at your grip videos. I’ve developed a lot (severe?) of arthritis in hands…especially right hand. Simply cannot replicate the ‘umbrella’ anymore.
Any suggestions? And totally understand if you care not to ‘touch’ this.
Cheeers,
Len
Yes, get some Jumbo Max grips like Bryson DeChambeau! Very tacky and much easier to use for arthritic Hands; also, the inflammation you have is caused by diet! See “grain brain” by Dr Perlmutter and get your food sensitivities checked!!
I just joined this channel and none of the videos are not working. Is this a problem in the whole system.
Not at all; we have not seen any issues for many months!

Shawn,
When you take your grip do you want to take it with the club upright (umbrella/clubhead in the air) or on the ground (clubhead on the ground)?
Also, do you align the clubface closed and then take the grip (turn the club face closed, take grip) OR have the club face square and take a strong grip (keep club face square, align hand to be closed)?
How you take the grip seem pretty important, because if I change the method of taking the grip, the consistency changes.
Umbrella is better 95% of the time; and close face then grip neutral and solid; then square the face is best 75% of the time:
Those percentages are pretty cool huh!/😀👍
I like it, good stuff.
Shawn I have been hitting the ball day for years. I’ve tried everything on the enternet. I would have never believed the problem was in my grip, but it was. Now that I have adopted the grip that you recommend…I am only hitting the ball day when I resort to my desperate extreme lifting of my lead shoulder which actually of course caused many topped shots as well as causing the c!ubhead to dive even further and deeper behind the ball. so as soon as I work through this bad habit I look forward to feeling compression on every shot! My a complaint, but just letting you know I origina!!y signed up for one month and since I knew it was nearing an end, I signed up for a year. I received a note that I did it wrong, that instead of signing up like a new subscriber, I should have just signed up to continue my current subscription. Perhaps it could be more clear how it can be done. Thanks! RC.
hitting the ball FAT…
I should clarify that I thought ulnar deviation was the cause of hitting the ball fat, but now with a free arm swing it is an asset as long as I keep any trying to release through the ball absent and allow the left arm/hand action to release naturally after my hands have past through the door frame. Make sense Shawn?
Exactly right! When you don’t have a destination to send the ball, or you are concerned for ball contact, the swing comes to a screaching halt AT the ball;
Collect the ball to release it into the picture you planned is the key and yes, let the club release you in that direction!
