Are we supposed to feel the gravity pulling the club toward the ball also for chipping? cause with chipping our arms are fully extended.
Hi Seb; we are never trying to use anything to meet a golf ball; the ball is YOUR INTERSECTION ON THE WAY PAST THE IP INTO YOUR PICTURE. See “blur of club” and “arc blur unstoppable momentum series”
Hi Shawn – Is there a good way to confirm the release is happening at the right point? I’ve been trying to hear the “swoosh” sound of my swing at impact and after impact, but definitely not before. What do you think of this?
This is where the club throwing comes in big time; you want to practice throwing clubs in the direction of the target through an intermediate point; then when you throw in that direction through the IP and don’t let go, the weight of the club will release you at the right time and place for the flight plan you chose. See “the goldie locks series” for the prediction of where to place the ball so it’s in the way of this action.
Hitting a volleyball did the trick! Because of the size I had no worries about making contact, and allowed me to focus on the target. I can easily transfer this feeling with a golfball. The freedom in my swing is crazy! Thanks Shawn!

I do not know what if anything I should do. I use the battering ram and have no conscience release it just happens and seems to work perfectly. I am scared to work on the release and ruin it.
Nice going Tim! The release happens; it is not anything that should ever be manufactured; if you are letting the hammer release itself, and you feel good about your compression and flights, then you can chill and get going on the course and enjoy for a while! 😀👍
When hitting a tennis ball or throwing a football, I can add speed with my arms over and above just momentum or the kinetic chain, depending on the shot or throw I want to make. The three of you appear to be adding little or no extra effort or speed with the arms. Appearances in the golf swing can be deceiving. Are you adding independent arm speed or effort? Do you feel like you are doing so?
Love this question!! This one relates to the “pre-motor cortex series” and the “flow state series” a lot. “DEPENDING ON THE SHOT OR THROW I WANT TO MAKE” is the key here. A shot coming out of the 2nd cut of thick rough sitting down with trouble in front of the green that is easy to hit over with a full 8 iron vs a flyer lie in the first cut of rough with trouble in the back of the green…feel the difference already?
it is not your conscious mind’s job to think about that. You choose the flight plan and the club depending on the circumstances and then feel the action-task that needs to be used to deliver in that direction and react.
