Would you ever use this technique with any wrist hinge for longer chips or if there’s longer distance you can’t get to without wrist hinge you would just do a soft pitch technique? There’s a definite gray area/distance for me between the two. Does one provide more advantage over the other like spin/control/consistency?

Noticed I missed this one Ryan!
how has your short game come along since this question?

Rob Scrivener

Another great lesson Shawn! Definitive golf instruction at its best. I had a bit of a rough day yesterday with my chipping practice on some wet grass – until I remembered to open my club face up by 10 degrees or so… dohhh (Homer Simpson sound effect)😖
Thanks again.

Is the Dandelion stem under the equator or inder the bottom of the ball? Since I’m striking ball, grass, ground I’m thinking the Dandelion stem is under the equator.

Then mine is at ground level too. And, aha! The club face strikes the back of the ball before the leading edge cuts the stem at ground level; keeping the ball, grass, ground intact. Excellent! Thanks!!

Hi Shawn,

Been practicing relentlessly your method of chip/pitch. It makes total sense to me..I have been playing a long time and over the years developed a flip motion and as a result I am still hitting behind and sometimes thin. Not sure how to break this habit…HELP !

Hi Shawn,
With the chipping is the grip the same as for the swing?

Niels
