Hey Shawn, when would be the proper timing for lead heel to lift? I assume it would be different with each club? My timing feel off and I sometimes forget to lift my heel when I’m playing::
Hi Nate!! Ok, first, you can’t be thinking about that. 😝
second, get really good at the “walking drill” and the 6th video in “kinetic chain facilitation series” where I am walking and sending grass divots into the trees; when you do this well, simply observe how your survival machine does it and how it needs to pick up the foot to take the step forward but also use the ground to deliver the divot after it plants. Then do “perpetual motion drill series” which is a stationary walk to blend this into your swing! Tada!
Many thanks 🙏🏼
Do I need Vimeo to watch these videos now?
Why do you say that? We use Vimeo as a player for the videos; but you watch from our website; any issues with your videos?
So at impact, it’s legitimate to feel more or less equal weight distribution with the rear foot firmly planted? I bet doing that would really improve clubface contact consistency?
Not exactly; weight is 70-30 in favour of the lead side at impact; see “kinetic chain series” which explains it perfectly!
Hello Shawn, after good success at the beginning with your technique, I now have increasing problems. Especially with the irons I have many fat hits. In addition, all shots go far straight to the left. I am now also unsure about the weight shift. That seems to be almost non-existent with you. If I understand the videos correctly, you stay almost balanced on both feet. Which videos should I watch?
OK GREAT!!! I LOVE FEEDBACK LIKE THIS, THANK YOU!!
please see “weight shift with Savy” and “throwing the club” and “the throwing series”, “pumping up the volume” and “feet together back to feet apart” and “club speed”
Thank you. Do you have an explanation for why I have less problems with the woods than with the irons?
Yes! See swing plane for all clubs in the “list of videos by date” or search it; then see “ball below feet” for irons and you probably love the ball above feet as it makes you swing like the woods more around your body. Then see “grass whip training” which will give you a nice training session for staying along the grass with the irons! 👍😀
Hi Shawn, I think I’m making some progress but am still very inconsistent. I believe my biggest issue is staying behind the ball. I start there, just fine, but as I transition to my downswing I drive my whole body towards the target. I’m sure the answer is somewhere in tases videos so could you point me towards the ones I should focus on?
Very common; it happens when you default to the ball. First do the feet together drill and then the one leg drill; then see “bolted and centred” “uphill shot” and “downhill shot”
Once you have the feel, see “blur of club” and the “arc-blur series” of videos. Let me know after that!
Thanks Shawn! Here in Tucson the courses are closing down for overseed. Those drills will be a great way for me to spend the three week break!
