I only have the use of my right arm. Does out of the way work for me with my balance problem
Yes! Absolutely!
See my “fencing for power shawn clement” video! 🙂
Hi Shawn, thanks for this foundational video. Is there any benefit from the body turn beyond what’s needed for a free armswing? To throw the club the farthest I feel more of an increased squat than increased body turn; but I wonder if more swing speed can come from the catapult return of an increased body turn in balance (feet together drill).
Everyone has a perception as to how much they turn vs how much they squat etc…
The key here is to be able to throw the club with POWER AND EASE towards the direction you want to start the ball.
Thanks, Shawn. Focus on “body positioning” tends to rear its ugly head occasionally. I hope to always remember that “focus on the action to target” rules! Thanks.
simple critique of the rotary golf swing.thanks,harley
Do you have an explanation of the up and down bobbing of your head and what that does for you? Any videos on that?
please give me a simple critique of the rotational golf swing. thanks. harley
Hi Harley; are you talking about the “rotary swing”?
I THINK SO. THE EMPHASIS IS ON LOWER HIPS REALLY TURNING WITH MORE OF AN UPPER BODY TURN AND HIT FOLLOWING. UPPER BODY IS FAIRLY OPEN AT IMPACT. THANKS AS USUAL. HARLEY.
let me make a video of this for you Harvey; rotary swing is still a positional and resisting lower body in the backswing and what you describe is still something that nobody needs to think about during a task based motion to a target;
Shawn
But it’s sooo hard! I keep defaulting back to controlling my body movements instead of focusing on tasks.
Okay, it’s getting easier to stay on task. By cutting Dandelions toward my intermediate target, I can trust my mechanics and better control the path of my swing.
