Shawn, premium member here and as a testament to your instruction Iโm down to a 7.5 hcp from a 15 from 2 years ago โฆ.when I started watching your videosโฆso thanks a bunch for your method of teaching (Goldie locks, task focus and weight of arm-club unit!) it REALLY WORKS!
My question is how do you get the feeling of low effort, like a 2/10โฆ.but give yourself the task of increasing the speed to 7, 8, or 9 out of ten? When I try to increase speed my strain goes up ๐๐ป.. and the results usually a pull or a hook. Where is the speed coming from โฆor what is the feeling/focus โฆwhen you keep the effort the same?
I think if I can figure that out Iโll have less mis-hits and get down to a 5 or less handicap! ๐๐ป๐๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
Hey James! I think you are the perfect candidate for a video analysis; this is where I would ask you to send me a face on and a down the line of a 7 iron and a Driver; send to my personal email at [email protected] and I will point you in the right direction. No slow motion, just regular speed please.
Sounds goodโฆIโll plan on getting one to you next week.
Thanks!
Hey Shawn, I appreciate the mind set of easy swing, low effort, but what if you actually want to hit your normal distance minus 20 yards? I thought you were actually doing to try to hit the center of the bunker to start.
video cut off abruptly…maybe wrong clip uploaded?
WHOA!! THE HORROR!! Something happened in the transition! Will re-ipload this afternoon, stay tuned please!! Thank you for the comment!
Ok, CORRECTED!! See the full video now and let me know what you think! ๐๐๐
Ok. CORRECTED, PLEASE HAVE A LOOK!!๐๐๐
Great Video! Many times I struggle with too much strain and effort. Backing off perceived flight planned target distance to ratchet back strain and effort level should be an interesting journey and a great way to solidify solid gapping for each club. I find it’s easiest for me to do this process with my hybrid and fairway woods. Hardest with my driver and somewhere in the middle for my irons. Really going to try to embrace this concept fully as getting those career shots that feel pummeled with minimal perceived effort is SO addicting. Thanks Shawn!
Addicting is a great word for it! Like Moe said when asked โdo you ever get bored hitting solid and straight all the time?โ To which he replied โnooooโ are you kidding? I could do this all day!โ And he didโฆ๐
