Sean the 1st 2 feet of backswing tug of war thing critical for me once I got used to that it is a different feel from what Ive been doing for 40 years. It is allowing me a fuller release keeping head back and watching the ball go straighter and eliminating the push getting feeling of blur going towards intermediate spot. I am really trying to get the feeling also of collecting the ball and full release. Anyway to make sure I am releasing in the right spot its hard to see? Or anything else you can suggest for me.

Hi Shawn,
Been topping my 5 wood , have tried taking the ball position back, and then tendency to hit into the ground or not finish my swing. Been doing it for a week my fairway woods. My driver is going long and straight. Any videos I can watch regarding topping of Fairway woods.

Shawn

See all the videos on fairway woods; start at the bottom of the “List of videos by date”
ALWAYS FOCUS ON SOLE OF CLUB TO GROUND DEFLECTION

4 months in and completely lost it, started as an 8 handicap. after 2 weeks of following this was gaining massive distantce… hitting driver in meters (250-270) (I am 65) (9 iron was my 165 club) Was straighter and longer. Then doubt crept in as i hit more misses, and lost the feel of this. Tried drills but cant find it. I am now a 13 handicap, hitting low left to left snap hooks constantly, barely hitting 9 iron 130 yards (have lost 3 clubs in length) I have gone back to to many of the videos and just gets worse, I hit so steep. I am seriously at the point of walking away from golf now for weeks to forget everything.

Your theories are great, but walking through this premium site is very difficult and I am at such a loss.

right now I hate golf

thought about doing the 1 lesson, but one swing video wont say a thing about the massive confusion in my hear and swing

Shawn Clement

No way you are quitting on my watch and absolutely I will find what the short circuit is and I already have a good idea of what it is! So important for you to know that you are not defective and that you cannot do anything wrong. Please send me a 7 iron clip face on and down the line and I will get you on track and focus you in the right areas of this website. You just can’t replace the 1-1 sometimes and this is one of those times. I expect to see these soon!

Shawn Clement

Still waiting for your swing clips!

The fade and draw are easy to understand now by just moving around the center of the driver head from a neutral stance/position. I saw the driver head blur go to right for the draw and left for the fade positioning. Cant get these confused any more with this basic process of positioning.

It’s amazing what you pick upon the 3rd or 4th viewing. The slightly closed stance, even for a fade, to have a platform is genius! I have felt as if I don’t have any weight on my left leg when I pre-turn behind the ball. Closing the stance was an instant fix. Drove it like a boss all week-end. Thank you very much!! Have a Merry Christmas!

Shawn Clement

Boss Kelly! Has a great ring to it! Thank you for the great comment! Shawn
