Great visual and explanation. Videos like the this one makes it easy to understand timing and rhythm.
Thank you Andy! Glad you got the picture! 😀👍
Shawn, I am 77 years old and losing distance on all my clubs. I watched your video on increasing speed which simply emphasized tossing a club to a farther away target. In my attempt to toss a club farther, I tend to get quick and manipulative with negative impact on my results.Any suggestions?
Hey Dan! Love how you were able to dig into the content and sort a few things out! The stick the finish is a big one; here is your answer from another comment for others to see how you did it! You the man! 😀👍
”But I played a round this week with much greater success by scoring an 84. I attribute this improvement from your videos about cutting grass with the grass whip, the perpetual motion drill, and actually tossing clubs out toward a target. In addition, studying and applying this particular video “Battering Ram Jackknife to Finish” which highlights the importance of “sticking the finish” with my chest facing the target and ensuring my wrists are allowed to be fully recocked has me hitting crisper, longer, and straighter shots. I finally beat my playing partner for the first time in a lot of years. Thanks for such effective golf instruction.”
yes, you bet!
Hi Shawn. From many years back, I have one of those 5-irons that has a super bendy shaft (like a fishing pole). Watching the rope drill in this video prompted this question in my mind — do you view that particular training aid as a useful tool or not in capturing some of the feelings you are teaching?
Yes! You bet! Very good tool for waiting for the weight of the club!
Hi Shawn. The rope you used looks like a 2” diameter. Would this work with smaller diameter ropes?
I picked up an inch and a half on eBay with taped melted ends on eBay for 22 delivered. I LOVE this drill I strongly suspect it will resolve my swinging from the top and too much effort
You bet! Let us know how you develop!
Shawn
A bit smaller but not too much; it needs to have a good weight to track!
Do you sell the rope on your website? I didn’t see it
No, not the rope; best to get it at a local store or a marine store if you are close to the ocean!
