Hi Shawn. I was wondering if you have seen the new Aug 2018 Golf Digest where Stan Utley has written an article on putting? I don’t normally get into Golf Digests’ “tips”. But I really thought of you on this one. Check it out. He is using MOMENTUM and GRAVITY in the putting stroke. Something he never mentioned in his earlier books. Would love to hear what you think of this technique. Thanks Doug D.

how does your brain know the speed of the green? my home course is very slow. when I travel or play a different course, it seems to take my brain a long time to adjust. is it just me?
It is all on how you see the ball enter the hole! Slow greens, see the ball leap off the front of the hole and hit the back of the hole on the way in; fast greens, see the ball enter slowly!
What is the brand and model of that putter grip please?

Your technique of testing the swing and then bringing the arm club unit in is working for me. Great tip.
Excuse me if I missed it. Can you tell me where you look when you are putting, at the top of the ball, at the back of the ball, at the grass between the ball and putter or at the putter? I struggle with short putts on the side of a slope. I miss so many and it seems like a lot of pressure to sink them.

Shawn,Is there a formula for the length of putter one should use? Also mallet or blade?
Ping has a great fitting system for this! They have a special adjustable shaft to allow you to get into the posture that would allow the arm-putter unit to hang from the shoulders from a balanced body structure; then using the app, they determine the right balance in the head for the arc that you use. Find a local Ping fitting centre; once you find the right balance, they will show you different heads that match the profile and use the app again to see which one flows with you best! Enjoy!
