Love this! I’ve always liked Dave Stockton‘s unconscious putting method which keeps the mind “out there” on the line instead of trying to be careful with mechanical movements. This is very similar.

When I’m playing, I pretend I’m messing around on the practice green . . . get a decent idea of the speed and line, keep my eyes on that line, walk up and immediately send the ball into the hole. No practice stroke over the ball. The more carefree I am the better the results.

And you are more sane after the round as well! 😝😂
Right on! My son has a great comparison in BMX racing; focus on where you want to land and the takeoff will take care of itself; if you focus on the lip of the jump, you will get very sketchy!

I’ve been leaning in on heads up putting for the past few weeks and I’m liking it a ton. But, heads up putting is nothing without using the weight and momentum (thank you Shawn). When I try to control the putter i feel like it’s luck if it goes in (i got lucky with a controlled path, face, and speed). When I’m successfull with using the weight…its a beautiful roll…and it went in because it was meant to happen 🙂 I’ve incorporated what you shared about a tone and I love it as I’m experiencing what you explained about freeing my mind, its awesome! I’m using my “tone” for distance control…4 footer…i say to myself, “one” on backswing and “one” on swing through and it does free up my mind so nice…if its a 30 footer i say “one, two” on backswing, and then “one” on follow through…thinking metronome. These improvements for me are significant and I would have never known to incorporate these fundamentals without your help, thanks Shawn!!

I love the 1-1 and 1-2, 1 on the longer putts: really well done Adam!
