Really a great series to watch, they all are btw 😀, after you’ve been going deeper down that WIG path. I have to ask, has Brandel ever commented or given you feedback on these? Wondered if you’ve ever met him. Seems very straightforward on Golf Channel.

Shawn, I just revisited these videos and they really do a wonderful job of summarizing the WIG approach. Fantastic!

Shawn Clement

Thank you so much for the feedback! Really important for me to be reminded! 👍😀

In the transition, I need to shift my weight with my back facing target. How much weight has to shift to the lead foot? 80-90%? Or shift the weight just enough to clear my hip ? If more weight shifted, generate more power?

Shawn Clement

Hi Chris! There is no way for you to micro manage this action without the task; when you throw the club to a specific target, the brain has to go to the ground to secure the kinetic chain with the lead leg, and depending on the direction, the height, the lie and the stance, it will know exactly how much to shift so that it can remove the body out of the way at just the right amount so that the arms can be brought through in that direction. This works at 40 million bits of info per second. You thinking about it works at 40 bits per second, one thing at a time and is a massive sabotage to the whole deal. So:
1-get good at throwing the club
2-see the first “off season training series” and there is a great sequence in there where we walk and throw the club in perpetual motion for your mind to become aware of the feel while you are doing the task continuously without thinking about it.
3-see “kinetic chain facilitation series” to polish and feel more depth in the movement.

Chris Fung

Thx, i started to understand the throwing the club concept after i tested. I start to swing the club easy back and forth . Then, i pretend to throw the club further and without adding force from my arms, the body automatically do the squat and jump up during downswing and release. Also, i hear the swish sound during this action so i know the swing is faster. Is my testing and understanding correct?

Shawn Clement

FANTASTIC, PLEASE CONTINUE!😀👍

Now , in Hong Kong, all the sports facilities are closed so that I practice inside my home. Only chip n small pitch is allowed. I discovered on my pitching, my club hit the low point inconsistently, what’s wrong with me? My focus is off or what?

Chris Fung

Anyway, thx for kindly attention!👍🏻

Shawn Clement

Did you watch all my chipping videos Chris? THEY ARE BY FAR THE BEST! Make sure you see the chipping video as well in the first kinetic chain series too!

Chris Fung

My backswing is always collapsed by right elbow folding too much at the top, so the width of the backswing is shortened. Also, I figured that my shoulder turn is stop much earlier than my arm swing since my turn is only half of the 90 degrees. What should I do?

Shawn Clement

The best feel for the backswing is in the “lead hand release” video and use the backswing portion of the video; it is my favourite and actually it’s time I do a separate video for achieving proper “backswing status”. Enjoy it!

Chris Fung

If I want to swing arm club unit harder, should I complete the backswing and then shift weight and turn my torso faster facing the target?

Shawn Clement

Hi Chris; VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION!
see “club speed” video first; then see “using the weight in your swing-axe drill with Savy” and the “throwing series” after that. Never think about body parts as this will massively sabotage the natural sequence of the swing!

Chris Fung

Do you accept the action which unwind the left side during backswing is almost finished?

Shawn Clement

Hi Chris, yes! But This happens naturally and should never need to be thought of. To truly have Wu Wei in the swing, one needs to have a proper task. See “kinetic chain engagement series” #6 is my favourite!! You will see a nice over head view with the drone in that video that will really light your mind! Practice this somewhere, you can do just grass blades if you don’t want to damage the grass or you can do sand if you are at the beach!
