Hey Shawn, it wasn’t this video but I recently watched video where you had tape on top of driver to help you see the arc blur. Did I dream that?! Also, is that legal to keep on during a round, or is it just for practice? I have read various internet opinions RE Tape vs painted on. It really helps me see my blur path/arc. Thanks, Brian

Shawn Clement

Yes, it was tape! And completely legal!

Best drill ever. Help take me from 95-98mph swing to 108mph. Also relax the shoulders instruction. Awesome!

This is an oldie but goodie (2018). What a difference. The blur for me is several inches further away – as in distance to ball – from where I set up without the blur. And, automatically without thinking, I am able to stick to the “throwing the club task” as I have so much more room and my head stays behind the ball. It is impossible for me to go “over the top” from this position! Fantastic, gold medal vid!!!

Totally agree. Before I was seeing the blur too far out. When I line it up to go over the ball I feel like I’m ssssoooo far away from the ball but very freeing!

Hi Shawn,

Would the blur work for distance to ball at address as well? I have noticed that my static address compared to dynamic impact position my hands move towards the ball due to centrifugal forces & causing some shanks and heel shots. Im thinking if I can see the blur it will tell me how far away I need to stand from the ball too!? Thanks for your thoughts on this

I am brand new. 8.5 index but very inconsistent and historically a very overly analytic positional player; something about your teaching method clicked with me. I watched the blur and throwing the club and hit incredibly well on the range. As funny as it sounds in the process of trying to hit the ball I think I have historically not only missed the blur but often don’t remember focusing on the ball. I am going to take some time going through the videos the next few weeks. My only question is it seems like there is a bit of an up and done vertical motion to your swing. Am I seeing that right and is that ok?
