Hi Shawn,
I visualize the golf swing as the arm club unit swinging on a vertical arc while the body turns on a more horizontal arc, is it correct ?
I understood that I shouldn’t let the arms follow my body rotation but it is still difficult for me to feel it in my swing
Maybe with the battering ram ? Do you have any other drills for me ?

Thanks a lot ! Benjamin

Coach I think I just found the missing link for a quantum leap.

The golf swing is a down throw in both directions. If I start my backswing w the sensation that I’m throwing the club in a downward manner my body reacts and glides out of the way and my transition just simply feels like that throw isn’t quite done yet.

Once it’s done I begin my second throw in a downward direction, but by now the body has re centered and pivoted to “catch” this momentum forward.

If I want to throw it further, I do. I just throw it further into my backswing too to load the catapult properly.

Throw down, throw down. Out of the way, out of the way.

For draws I throw down just to the right of the IP.

For fades I thrown down and left of the IP.

Wow! Is this something you’ve experienced?

The fun part about what I do is to listen to the interpretations from different students that have success; had another cool one last night with an online 1-1 student. So important for all of us, including me, to be open to these; it is what makes this wheel move forward!
thank you for taking the time to explain in your words; this will definitely help more in our amazing community. So proud of everyone here! 🫶😀👍

I got the sensation swinging a rope back and through and trying to keep it straight but wrap around my body gently. Awesome stuff. Can’t wait to take it to the course today.

Hey Shawn, in the downswing it seems my arms are really outracing my chest and my trail arm is outracing my lead arm. Any tips to improve this?

Thanks Shawn, I think the biggest problem is my trail hand. I’m right hand dominant and right hand golf. Even when I throw the club it tends to want to go a bit left because my right hand wants to take over the throw. Any tips for that?

Shawn, am I correct or incorrect in my perception that the body rotation (getting out of the way) is what swings the weight of the arm/ club unit.? It seems that it is more than just letting the weight of the arms/club unit fall during the swing. Could you clarify this for me.Thanks

CORRECT!!! See “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series”!! When you let the arms fall PAST YOU AND TOWARDS THE TARGET, the brain has to go to the ground and get the body out of the way, CAUSING A REFLEX ACTION THAT IS UNSTOPPABLE. See “arc blur unstoppable momentum series” too!!
