Shawn, is a task called: “Glip the 2 pennies after the ball” an appropriate task thought?
Yes! The 2 pennies or the 2 tee drill; same! 👍👌
You mentioned “last weeks video on getting to your finish”. I did a search but could not find it. Could you help?
Thanks
Should be “Width of Stance and finish position” And “target confirmation series”
Shawn,
My early extension comes from not getting a squat in at the start of the downswing. Is it OK to think about a swing sequence like Toss-Fall-Fall which seems to help or is this too much process thinking that should be avoided. Am I better off finding a task that will lead me to perform that sequence automatically?
Yes, I know exactly that conundrum and it is a feel actually; when you toss 4 pound hammers around the backyard with the legs; when you walk and cut through dandelions; you feel the full engagement of the kinetic chain! So go “walking drill” and “walk cut strike” videos first; then plug that feel into the golf shots!
thanks…will give that a try
I really like planeing the wood task. This has gotten rid of my hooks and allowed me hits fades finally. I try to take a practice swing to get this feel. I really noticed with the driver how it really just skips off the turf. I hit some great drives and some my longest in a long time with this task in my mind. I have a piece of wood like yours and will just continue skipping the club on it. Great video!
Right on Scott! Love hitting my irons with this task; just the best compression and zippy feel ever!
Do you feel the peeling with your left hand or your right hand?
Also, sometime I take my backswing and the task is firmly in place, and all the milestones are checked. But when I hinge my wrists the club is very upright….not on plane. Is this because of my grip or some other reason. I fell as if I can hinge my wrists in several different ways which puts the club in a different plane on each one. Cheers!
Hey Mark! This is very solid deep down the rabbit hole feedback!
1-You will never get exactly the same hinge as you are built for adaptation
2-You will realize that several different hinges CAN STILL DO THE JOB or task
What I am working on at the moment is what would my grip strength be if I had the fullest and most abandonned release (with ease of course) that was fully anchored? This grip strength would also affect the way I hinge and the way I am preparing to release would also affect my hinge.
